Walsh, in love and confused, what have I done wrong? :surprised:

Walsh's lack of journalistic instincts is striking eh

If the bloke who's book you ghosted suddenly stops taking your calls surely any self-respecting journalist would put out feelers to their contacts at Team Sky and the UCI,etc. to find out if something's brewing?

Walsh just needs to retire. Enough of trading on past glories. Just embarassing now...

If nothing else, all this stuff proves that Walsh had got unprofessionally close to Froome on an emotional level, and I'm a bit baffled that a journalist would happily put something like that in the open without acknowledging that it was bad.

I struggle to understand your bafflement. This is what he did with Sean Kelly.

Many claimed that Walsh only went after LA because LA stopped sucking up to him ("If I could go back and kiss his ass maybe I should have," LA once said). If he turns on Froome now...

I think that Walsh waited to see which side the wind will blow, then decided to go with it not to look more foolish. But too late?

Exactly. It appears that Walsh believes this is perfectly normal behaviour. David just needs a big hug.

The not returning calls thing. This is pretty much what he also said after the JTL thing, about Dave Brailsford...

A journo who's default setting is to trust their subject (a pro cycling natch!) is not doing their job properly
But Walsh isn't just a cycling joruno. He's the MAN who singlehandidly took down Lance.

Single handidly. NO ONE else was involved. Walsh even got a movie crew to make a film about this showing very clearly that no one else was involved (just in case anyone thought Walsh wasn't alone). All Walsh, all himself. The film was going to get oscars.

So don't you dare tell walsh how he should do his job. He is the greatest journo in history.

I sense that Walsh thought The Program would be a box office smash and he’d go to make Inside Sky into a feature film as well. Funny how things turn out. Now the only cineamatic greatness we get is an out of focus enlarged shot of his webcammed forehead

Let me guess. That's what Pierre Ballester was telling you just the other day

It's almost like Pierre never existed. I've never watched the drivel, but just had a look on the Rotten Tomatoes page and did a search on the cast for Pierre, and not even a mention.

I've said it before - what a loathsome individual.

'The Program' could have been so much better than it was - a real wasted opportunity. It even had Joe Mangel from Neighbours in it!

It coulda been the film Frears wanted to make - The Secret Race. The make-up for Ty's hair alone woulda won it an Oscar.

Forget which it was, Ty refused to sell the rights or was a schmuck and demanded too much.

Which is a real shame as I think the story is so much more powerful - it could focus on so many different aspects : Lance bullying, Tyler's constant stress and lying, etc.

He is the greatest journo in history

Now he is the greatest duped journo in history which could pose a problem if he decides its time to go into full *** investigative mode.

*whether he could so so being at the pay roll of the Murdochs does create a conflict IMHO*

The Sky brand is part of the Fox deal, so think it will be even more separate from the Times / Sunday Times brands (unless I misunderstood that).

According to companies house James Murdoch is the boss of Sky PLC https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/officers/RiR9rBCpY8EphY57LcskZxo5NoU/appointments and Rebecca Brooks (remember her) the MD of News Corp UK & Ireland https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00081701/persons-with-significant-control *this is pretty amazing considering her brush with the law over phone hacking*

Without unravelling the nuances of various holding companies it would appear Rupert Murdoch still maintains overall control of News Corp International. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/sep/04/rebekah-brooks-rupert-murdoch-media

Is David Walsh really going to go for the jugular on Froome with the Murdochs as his bosses??

My understanding is that the Murdochs will leave the Fox group when the deal goes through. Not surprised nothing is updated at Cpy House just yet - it was only announced the other day, lots of hurdles to jump before then.

The operation will however have to be authorized by the regulatory authorities of the competition, because a merger between Fox and Disney would give birth to a gigantic company. , such a group would reshape the entire film sector.

Hamilton was happy just to have the book IIRC
