Is Walsh on the Sky bandwagon?

There were many other ways Kimmage could have responded to this difference of opinion.....certainly he lacks subtlety and intelligence in his dealings with people.....at least he managed to keep it together and not alienate Froome out of the interview that you were all clamouring for

I'm glad you know the personal difference between two people. You know Walsh's side, not Kinmidge. Stop trying to sugarcoat it. Walsh abandoned his ideals and his personal friend for a pay cheque. Simple.

Nonsense.

I was told reliably before it went public he was deeply hurt and they had a big falling out. I was told this was more the making of Kimmage.

Walsh's opinions on Sky aren't on attack on Kimmage personally, something you seem hard to draw the distinction on and grasp as a whole. Kimmage went off to the Irish Independent bragging about the fall out and talking about some principled view that it was all worth it in the end. Walsh on RTE radio wouldn't respond to it and said he told Kimmage at the time of the fall out he would never say a bad word publicly about him.

If a friend becomes member of a cult, what do you do?

You try to help them and talk sense into their heads, but when it doesn't work you move on with your life.

That contradicts other posts you have made.......and the entire premise of this thread......if it was a cult he would be doing it out of belief rather than in bad faith and for the money.....which is what you have previously stated

......so which is it?

Let them go. Hopefully they'll work it out in time... Walsh is embedded so it will take time and he's been paid by Murdoch.

Rubbish.

I was watching the Arsenal v Man United earlier and had numerous disagreements with other Arsenal fans who were still defending Wenger. Close friends of 20 years who are fanatics on the club. These discussions have been going on for some time. Should I end these friendships because of some unconditional love I think they have for Wenger?

Give me a break.

Wenger being a good manager or not is a legitimate debate. Both sides have good arguments.

Going from being anti-doping to becoming the alpha bot is like becoming a totally different person. It doesn't make any sense.

It's a question of integrity, surely: liking or disliking a football manager or whatever is a difference of opinion. Discovering - or believing - that your friend has eschewed the values you shared and 'sold their soul to the devil' must feel like an act of betrayal and would surely undermine a friendship which one must imagine was founded on their attitude to doping.

Career moves don't necessarily involve being paid........he got exposure.......the whole move was to get the spotlight on him as being the great anti-doping journalist

He lost his job, some career move

Nice work Mark L

Walsh writes books for Murdoch, consults on movies. You do the math on that one !!!!kaaaaching!!!!!!

Pure hog.......try to sneak in a lie hoping that nobody knows the actual facts...

He lost his job in 2012, hog..........the falling out with Walsh came the following year....probably best you back away quietly.

Too funny

What else is funny is how we all got to find out about the fall-out wasnt it?.......even details such as Kimmage shouting at Walsh for 2 hours in an airport .........and Kimmage being so right that he's prepared to sever the friendship forever

.........funny that we got to hear about this because it wasn't Walsh who went around desperately trying to get press attention for it

Typical Kimmage tactic....career move and nothing else

Yes hog........you are wise to try and divert attention away from the discussion that has dominated the last 4 pages of this thread.......now that you have been caught out as usual.

And yes hog......nobody, not even Walsh or Kimmage, work for free

Kimmidge works for free because he lost his job and had to accept donations for his UCI defence. Walsh has Murdoch.

I don't mind that you support Walsh/Murdoch/News Corporation. I prefer to give my back to the common man. Not one who is bankrolled. Each to their own.

Do you think Kimmage did his Froome interview for free? :D:D:D

......his self-promotion of his self-promoting Walsh fallout got him the gig anyway.

Ahh the classic hog strawman tactic......having been embarrassingly found out you try and attack me in the hope that I'll take the bait find my self trying to defend a position I don't even hold and take the attention off your bad mistake

Thing is hog.....your schtick is getting a little old.....we can all see through it to the point that we can even predict it.....your next tactic will be to try and claim this as a personal attack......you'll probably say "why get personal? This isn't about me"

The Kimmidge interview was for the Irish Times and unlike Walsh didn't have a book deal attached nor was he interviewing a person paid by the same owner. The questions Kimmidge asked demonstrated the difference between he and Walsh.

What a difference a pay cheque makes, yes?

You can choose to selectively overlook such facts but it just demonstrates the bias you carry. Fairly straightforward.

Back again? ......I'm surprised...but we note how you dropped the strawman tactic like a stone

Having said that Kimmage works for free you are now saying he got paid (albeit by a different person to Walsh.....err no ***....)

So which of your two contradictory positions are you going to stand by?

Up to you. I don't mind. Just have accept we see things differently. I support Kimmidge. You support Walsh/Murdoch/News Corp.

No harm in differing philosophies and opinions.

I've read the Walsh books so I'm well versed on what played out. He kept his job :) Wonder why....
