Del Toro's 10th win of the year today, what a season he is having!
Isaac comes from a place with sizeable olive groves and wine grape vines, whenever I see trees that look like olives get a good feeling. He rode last @12 k doing lion's share of the work, 2 Tudor chase very strong but not enough. Polti rider giving it a great effort! I hope Del Toro does gravel worlds also. He confirmed officially that he will race in Rwanda, good course for him, excellent makeup from his trade team, if anyone knows when Pogacar will go, it's Del Toro. Plus because of race schedule this year and Giro breakout, Del Toro will race with confidence. He has support from Mexican federation and trade team, good formula. Bummed that Wellens will sit it out, UAE will have good chemistry despite that.. And just for good measure he beat Hirschi and Carapaz today

If any Italian fans have pre or post race interviews with Del Toro speaking Italian posting any is appreciated!
Del Toro said:
He wasn't so sure to win the sprint with Scaroni going being so strong,
I had to be careful or I could have made a mistake.
I attacked on the climb because the group were only 10s behind and I wanted to keep the rhythm going.
In the end I think it turned out well.
I like racing in Italy and look forward to the coming weeks.
The Worlds won't be an easy race but I'll race as usual trying to keep myself at the front of the group.

Thanks for that, I think one of his original Monex team houses was in San Marino, he likes everything about Italy and Italian people. Don't know if Speaking Spanish as first language makes it automatic that you take to Italian.
I speak marginal Spanish and have very difficult time with Italian. Without speaking I enjoy the food! I spoke with 2 other riders from Monex, 1 from Monterrey, NL and the other kid is from Ensenada BC, they both love Italy. Another rider who is no longer riding with Monex lived in Italy for 2...2.5 years and he loved it, so maybe young Mexicans are an easy fit.

Nobody can know if he races differently with riders like Carapaz in the bunch but he has some pretty predictable moves and his old hand keeps working.
. Wonder if Pogacar is giving him lessons on race strategy!!
Another win..I think that's 11 this year. Isaac has 14 pro wins without finishing his second year..
Quality guys like Tim Wellens..41 wins, in the game since 2012! Marc Soler pro since 2015 has 10 wins! Ayuso 16 wins went professional in 2021..Del Toro on rocketship pace. Almeida , 23 wins since his pro start in 2017!

Huge talent and comes across rather humble which is encouraging. Will be interesting to see how UAE handle his development over the next few seasons.
Another day.. Another win..This time Coppa Sabatini. He made a decent jump and Jan Christian was in chase group sitting on lots of horsepower, Carapaz, Hirshi, Scaroni, they just couldn't close the gap.. Conti rider sat on in the group of three,,Ben Granger, he was just being smart with 2 WT guys, Cofids, rider Benjamin Thomas was working, he did decent pulls and Del Toro just did one small hard pulse near the finish and gapped both guys..impressive win.
And he is not faking it, Isaac is shy and mild mannered..

12 wins this season, getting closer to Pogacar. This guy is killing Mickey Mouse races. Can he threaten big boys at the WC?
It will be a very different race compared to anything he's done before.
The only Monument he's ridden is Milano - Sanremo (2024 + 2025) which is way easier and I think very suited to his skillset. He has zero experience in LBL / AGR / Lombardia.

Plus, he started training as a pro not longer than 2 years ago. Accumulated training volume can make a difference when we're talking about these super hard races. I reckon we should view this as a learing experience for Del Toro. If he manages to get a good result that's a plus.
