I agree that he owned up to it but there is still a slight issue involved. Carapaz totally got played and that still stings. For del Toro it's yesterdays news but for Antonio IMHO this is still a hard pill to swallow.

Thanks for posting. The full quote is a bit more nuanced than "speaks out against team car". Takes responsibility for not knowing Van Aert was there an admits (obvious) mistakes.

That said, not sure what the point is of airing that out publicly. Can't really argue with what he's saying, but as a leader, just take responsibility even if it isn't your fault.

I thought about the Del Toro article while still having this Julien Vermote article lingering at the back of my head. To me they describe the same problem; teams and riders are focused and data while forgetting race craft.

But I guess some might just see Vermote as old and bitter. I don't. To me it's just different sides of the same coin. (If there even is such a speak in English I don't know🤔)

The last 10-15 posts in Pogacar thread have wild speculation and just misinformation about Mexico, Mexicans and Del Toro. The list is too long to have a logical starting point. Del Toro is not in any argument, power struggle or feud with Pogacar or anyone else on UAE.
Del Toro doesn't think he is the best bike racer in the world.
Mexicans coming into the fan fold for Isaac, do say patriotic, enthusiastic comments about his abilities and status. He is definitely a bright spot on Mexican sporting scene. Mexican cycling fans who follow the sport are certainly optimistic but also realistic.
Mexican sports media is small, respectful and not aggressive or intrusive. The country is very, very big and when national journalists get a chance with sporting or other celebrities it's with planning and they want the most of the opportunity and don't burn bridges.
Mexico is much different than many Western countries. Millions of Mexicans still enjoy newspapers and nightly news and daytime variety shows.
The unemployment rate in Mexico is less than @3%. The economy is roaring, there is lots of national enthusiasm and Del Toro is at the right place at the right time.
Other important stats..Average age in Mexico is 29..Mexico has @35% poverty rate. Because so many Mexicans watch TV using antennas Del Toro's exposure is very limited because most Mexicans don't get Eurosport or other European based TV channels, bike racing is not on TV.
Del Toro gets mentioned on ESPN, the sports part of TV news. And people are interested. Cell phone use and high speed internet is in a constant state of improvement and expansion in Mexico and as a result of better and better social media coverage for bike racing. Millions of people can follow Del Toro on Facebook and YouTube. Also good timing for Toro.... is the aging out of Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez.. who is winding down as Del Toro is winding up. One star fading while the other is rising.
Just too many positives to list.. Del Toro has stayed healthy, team and teammates are giving him 100% support. Is getting positive feedback worldwide.. Mexicans enjoy some strange worldwide popularity through culture, food, vacation propaganda.. Mexico and Mexicans are seen as laid back, chill people, Isaac definitely benefits from that..
His fan base is growing for obvious reasons but any talk of drama is misleading, misguided. I highly doubt that Tadej or Isaac will bite on bot bait like the posted video.
If anything those types of videos are further confirmation that artificial intelligence is still under development but far from perfect if you do it on the cheap. Del Toro currently doesn't need any deep fake videos of him winning, he has real ones..

I had no idea people belived rumours like this, that's so sad 😞

I personally didn't believe a word this video said. What made me laugh was how inaccurate and badly narrated it was. I found it absolutely hilarious.

(I don't trust nor use LLM/machine learning for the life of me. But I do laugh when they go wrong. 🤪🎶🤣)

All I've noticed on social media is that a huge number of comments on UAE's posts are from Mexican fans of del Toro. It's clear there is huge support and momentum behind him!

I don't think he's a problem for UAE either, more for us fans. It's a shame to have another big talent on UAE, when I'd love to see him lining up as leader at races like Liege.
