I don't see a rivalry tbh. It seems very obvious (at least to me) that Seixas will be much better than Del Toro.
Lets hope that in 5 years time Seixas is not the new Pogacar.

I could do with an era with a bit more excitement and for now Del Toro seems to be the youngster closest to Seixas.

Another great ride by him. I think Seixas is further ahead in his form curve having done altitude, and I think Del Toro will beat him in the Tour if Seixas goes but thats just speculation.

I also see a lot of people saying Del Toro felt bad sprinting against Seixas for 2 after Seixas did all the work and that he allegedly told Pogi that at the line.(He looked fresh AF at the line and also on the last climb)

Doesnt matter podium in this race and company is really good. On to the next. Itzulia will be great this year.

I also think that he did not want to sprint after sitting on the wheel the entire race. Del Toro is an exciting rider, as is Seixas.

Not allowed to race in the big ones because Pogacar and is instead just there breakchecking riders better than him.

About as exciting as an appendectomy

Thats normal tactics with a teammate up front. Close gaps and disrupt the chase. Maybe others should take more note of how he wheelsucked. I see a lot of complaints that riders arent doing that enough, or maybe it just depends on who the rider is afterall.

You seem rough today RR! I just AI ed you a shot of el Mayor to smooth you out.
He doesn't drink! I did it for us both last night, uuugh..
I don't think that people are paying close attention to post race comments by Del Toro and Pogacar, I think both guys were talking like they were locked in a cage with an angry bear and lived to tell about it.
I think Paul gave both guys a reality check. If this guy can time trial he will steal lots of thunder from Isaac. I wish we had radio transcripts, Tadej probably asking if Seixas was still chasing that hard, Pog really had to work for it.

Del Toro would have drag raced for the second place if he could have, he had a rope tied to Seixas seat post and he still was having a hard time keeping the wheel.
Paul was the strongest rider in the race today in my opinion.
Guy is young and the more experience he gets won't make same mistakes, Del Toro learning curve was really steep also, both riders are very natural about getting in the right place,
Pog, Paul and Isaac were gapping Pidcock while in the saddle. Jorgenson looked really good, he went with the wrong wheel, 6,7 times and it cost him in the end. Healy is a very good racer, he doesn't always use great tactics, EF is really not much help to the guy.. Overall some solid racing, Tadej looking pretty human today, guy has self punishment, pain threshold second to no-one..

"Never trust a man who won't have a drink." "How sad to wake up every morning knowing that's the best you will feel all day." "Sometimes I think I should stop drinking, but in the end, I'm no quitter."
"You don't have enough heroin for me to take a drink with you." - Me, every time somebody presses me to drink a beer or a shot.

35 years in April. Wouldn't be alive otherwise.

I could understand not sprinting but what would be the point of dropping with almost 1 km to go?

Not going too hard on the last ramp. Saving legs for T-A. Just guessing.

He looked very fresh when talking to Pog right after the finish. Barely breathing.

By analyzing the race and the last 80 kilometers, it surprises me that anyone could objectively think he would have voluntarily left the second place to Seixas. Doing podium 1 and 2 for UAE is more rational.

I want to like Del Toro, but he really needs to go to another team. Too many of the "big" one day races that suit him also suit Pogacar, and until Pogacar declines, he won't get a chance to race them as leader, which seems like a ridiculous waste to me. I know it's all about the money, but surely there are other teams that could have afforded to pay Del Toro a very good salary. He didn't need to sign an extension until 2059 or whenever he's locked himself in to.

SB and Lombardia are the only ones that "suit" him, out of the "big" ones, but so it does for a lot of riders. Riding for the best team now and in the future is his best chance at winning them. Pog or no Pog.

Other one-day races he will get more than enough chances to win. Just look at last season. He led the team for about 10-15 of them.
