Has UEFA made any official statements or will they wait until they‘ve voted.

If you will read most of the articles focused on this subject it's explained rather well, the chain of events that lead to it and what likely outcome will be. We can't really discuss it here. In general fans protested, some clubs started to ask questions, UN was rather clear ... UEFA will hence govern.

Meanwhile UCI?

Adams needs to sell the team to Premiertech (or other sponsor) and they'd get a Canadian license. also, as of now, they have no Israeli riders officially signed for 2026 (procyclingstats)
Didn’t the Premier Tech people try a hostile (according to vino) takeover at Astana?
I’m purely guessing, but I see Adams rather ditch Premier Tech and Factor and doing 3 years full sport washing with riders like Girmay and a bunch of Israelis.

Israel-VisitRwanda. I can see that happening.

Late addition to the devo team with young Brit Alex Beldon (I hope he knows what's he's getting himself into) joining just in time for tomorrow's GP Cerami. His most notable result this year was 8th at the Nats.

-------------------------------

Didn't see the race, but a nice 6th place at the Worlds for Marti. How did he look?

Lappartient:

“The UCI president drew a distinction between the handling of Israel - Premier Tech and the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee. “For Russia it was different. The attack from the Russian government against the Ukrainian territory happened during the Olympic truce. The Olympic truce was a resolution approved by the United Nations unanimously. The Olympic charter also mentions that of course we recognise a country the way they are recognised by the international community and by the United Nations. This is today the reason why the Russian NOC is suspended, not necessarily because there is a war, but for this point.””

This doesn’t seem to be a sustainable argument for the near future.

@aphronesis

Most of such quotes gets deleted so i don't know how we can possibly conduct a debate in regards to UCI actions. As for your remark in regards to suitability of such argument UCI made. I agree that it might be as early as February 2026, on where it will be tested.

Yeah, I’m looking for the original statement (or something proximate).

I was thinking general “recognition by the UN and international community” as moving a little faster as relevant to his distiction.

Whether we like it or not, discussion here can only be about how the sport handles any suspension if it happens, not whether it is right or wrong to suspend.

Had it not been for 3 years of WT status guaranteed, I think the team would fold or scale down a lot.

But now they are certain to ride the Tour, and with several other teams likely to fold, many riders will be happy for a WT spot, no matter where.

So I think it's more likely that they'll continue under the Israeli banner than fold. Most of this season went fine, so Adams could think that the team only needs to weather this storm and then turn the page next year.
i agree with you about the WT status.
there are some possibilities, and they still got some time to decide what to do.
but if Adams want to play it safe, he might choose to register the team in Canada (under a different name of course).

I don't know if people are aware of what is happening in Italy now but it will be a huge mess if IPT races in the Italian classics.
Already word on Amelila, but the next days have Coppa Agostini, Bernochi, Tres Valli and Gran Piemonte on the 9th..

Lombardia is Lega territory, so normally very different from Bologna, for example.

But sure, sth like 50.000 people were on the street in Milan last week, so the race may still be affected.

One might also say it'll be a huge mess if protestors foul up the races.

I know, it's super weird to assign some part of the blame to the people who would, in the scenario you outline, be the ones actually creating the mess. But I'm a wild and crazy guy...

Well the mess is directly because of the ipt team...

A cycling team...literally a bunch if athletes riding bikes around the countryside in tights with the "wrong" name on their kit...is "directly" responsible, but the protestors have no responsibility at all.

Just..incredible.
If your concern is about who is 'causing' the 'mess' then I didnt say the protestors didn't play a role in causing that. I just don't think there was anything wrong with Rou's speculative statement that 'it will be a huge mess if team IPT races in the Italian classics'.
