the co-sponsor Premiertech stops its backing!

[ content deleted]. Sylvan Adams, so the association with cycling is still there in November. The Vuelta concluded months ago and still no complete divorce from bike racing. Scary how long the UCI is letting this linger on.

"Hi everyone,

A quick update regarding sponsorship in 2026.

Today, Premier Tech announced their intention to step down as co-title sponsor in 2026. This announcement was not made in consultation with the team which is why we were not in a position to inform internally prior to the announcement. We have many ongoing and exciting conversations with potential partners and we expect to be able to update you all in the coming week.

Please note, this news, although disappointing and something we will continue to work through, does not change our approach to the 2026 season. We are as motivated as ever to hit the ground running and I look forward to seeing you all at camp in two weeks’ time.

Cheers,

Kjell"

Premier Tech have quite the history. Fallen out with Astana and Israel and never got off the ground with Jayco.

One less sponsor is not a good thing. It's going to be a mad rush to get things done before the UCI deadline for putting in the paperwork.

The moderator that deleted my post about a potential sponsorship from Rwanda are wrong about two things.

1) It was not a meant as a joke. Sylvain Adams have good connections to Rwanda and Rwanda have shown some serious interest in sport sponsoringship. They are sponsoring Arsenal and are involved with Atletico Madrid and PSG. I am totally serious when I’m thinking ablut Visit Rwanda being a sponsor of this team.

2) I think it should be possible to suggest that this could be an option without it being seen as an invitation to start talking about geo-political and human rights issues.

We know that Adams is involved with Rwanda (and this is in terms of cycling with the Field of Dreams academy stuff, meaning it’s not only political connection but a strong cycling connection that is relevant for this forum). We know that Rwanda is involved with sport sponsoring. We know that this team is trying to sign the biggest African cyclist in Girmay. If one are not able to discuss these things from a purely cycling perspective, don’t blame me for it.
