I just wonder why Cassani does not send Visconti out instead of De Marchi during World Championships. That would be a much more serious threat

Brave ride and well-deserved win for Visconti. Nibali looks very strong. I expected a little bit better (as always) for Tibopino. Still, not bad. I hope that Chaves is OK: he it the pavement fast and hard.

This race needs to be WT. The autumn climbing classics need to be a genuine good spot on the calendar
This race with Lombardia on the next weekend and Milano-Torino and Tre Valli Varesine between them have a ton of potential and are usually better races than the Ardennes classics.
Next year you'll also have a WC for the climbers on the weekend before it.

Well, it already was. but after this Nibali is the absolute main favorite for Lombardia.
Exceptional Visconti, it looked immediately a very good attack and finally a well deserved win.

And Bologna needs to apply for World Championships. But they never do.

Fairly underwhelming race in terms of entertainment, but glad that Visconti got it. Nice attack and the strongest on the day.

Nibali looked sooo tranquilo on the last ascent of San Luca. Wonder how anyone is going to beat him next weekend

Is there some other short hill around S.Luca? It would be very interesting to have a 15-20km lap with San Luca and second hill, with finish line on the flat.

Rofl Uran got a mortadella prize!!!
Pretty typical for smaller Italian races.
The one thing that is hurting this race a bit is the fact that it's not owned by RCS, so they don't really promote it as much as their races and sometimes they even try to sabotage it, 2 years ago they had the Abu Dhabi Tour durning the same time just to mess with them.

I might be wrong, but from what I can understand, Cassani and Visconti have a "difficult" relationship.

WCR or WT, why? So that we see another last ramp murito sprint. It's good how it is, why change it?! *** World Tour, love cycling like that and don't need this to be another WT borefest.

1 Visconti 5:31:22
2 Nibali 0:11
3 Uran 0:14
4 Roche 0:17
5 Moscon 0:22
6 Vuillermoz 0:25
7 Ulissi 0.26
8 Pinot
9 Haig 0:31
10 Hermans 0:32

Tibo lacks in little bit of rythm. Every guys in front of him have raced a lot in the lastmonth. Pinot has 3 race days (4 now) since mid-August and 0 the last 2 weeks. Today was a tough 223km 1.HC with a strong field. I am not too worry, he is going to race Beghelli, Tre Valli Varesines and Milano-Torino before Lombardia. He should be ok next week.

Nibali and Barhain look mighty strong at the moment, massacre in the Muro di Sormano incoming, like in 2015 !

WT or not these races are definitely under-exposed and should at least be TV-transmitted regularly.

They used to be big before Pro Tour (i.e. 80s-90s) and they have suffered massively after that. But you're totally right: they should get much more exposure

How come Gs Emilia thinks this Zappolino climb is 310m instead of 234m?  76m is quite a difference for such a climb.
