They have some kinks to work out with the exact shading of the colors, especially the lavender front wheel.

:eek:That is one eyesore:eek:

I think the guy in the paint shop may have been color blind. The front wheel throws everything off; it would look much better if the front wheel were black as well...at least the proper shade of gray.

I'd rather invest in one of these............

The Trek just looks like a billboard. All it's missing is an: "Eat at Joe's".

I like it, simple but elegant:cool:

I have no proof but I think the "lavender" color may be because that is a reflective feature on the rim. I know HED, on some of their wheels, has a reflective silver logo; can't find a picture where it looks purple though.

Neon lights on the chainstays and perhaps some flashing lights on the spokes? Brilliant! Radio Shack probably has lots neon tubing laying around. you should send this idea to the team.

I actually think that's right. The wheel is gray I believe, but the red from the logos is reflecting on it (in this photo) to give the nasty lavender-ish color.

I wonder....will Lance ride this or will he have his special bikes and helmets this season? That always bothered me. He never really looked part of the team.

That's because Armstrong is above the team?
Comparing this bike to the Pinarello is similar to comparing a Ferrari to a Dodge Nitro.

its funny when la is involved some cannot see past that. for those just pretend lance is not involved and judge based on looks alone. to me it looks ok but i will never buy a bike with team sponsor logos on it only brand labels. thats just me though luckily my specialized s-works sl-2 which im building up does have quick step stickers which can be removed easily.

The bikes at the Radio Shack training camp are different to the one shown earlier.
Here is a foto from the RS training camp - and here is the related article where you can see more fotos.

The 'original' bike color I think is quite nice - bur agree there is an overuse of R's and the front wheel has got to go.
The 'new' version is an understated black and dark grey - nice, but almost too conservative. The nicest bike in the group ride is LA's bike- imo.

I am sorry but the bike has been hit with the ugly stick....but then again, I have never liked the bikes, Armstrongs influence or not.

If trek are aiming to sell alot of 15,000 dollar bikes to 14 year olds, then it's a winner...it's the Platonic idea of an ugly bike.

The bike looks better every time I see it, but the kit has a soviet union/east Germany feel to it.

I tried to find an existing thread that fit this topic, but no luck. This ain't bike porn.

I want to hear opinions on the paint scheme on the Shack team Madones. Not a bad looking bike, considering Trek usually rank style last on their list of priorities. But this paint scheme gives me a headache. Too busy, too many colours, not that they go well together, and what's with that RS symbology? Reminds me of the disastrous yellow symbol-laden bike that Armstrong rode into Paris in 2005. My bike would look like that if I gave my 3 yr old a magic marker. I expect Tom Cruise to ride this to scientology meetings.

Compare this to the Sky bike, very simple and sharp looking. Or is this yet another style trend that I have missed? I am pretty square.

Edit: should clarify - I know there has been some discussion about this bike on the RS video thread, but didn't want to ask a specific question that could take that one so far off topic.

Still a trek with red crap.............yawn.

That is a beauty, nicely understated. But let's be honest dim, Sky could roll off the start on old penny farthings and you would still be in full salute! :D
