Good to see Vingegaard getting no reward for his negative racing. He's certainly dropped in my esteem.

Lol. He was taking pulls on Krabelin and the climb after. On Arrate he was on his last legs.

I think this was Izagirre's best performance ever. Without the crash he might even have been able to launch a successful attack - he did only lose out by 11 seconds in the end but that was probably an unrealistic gap to bridge.

By the way, the crash was his fault. Of course Vingegaard deviated from his line but as the rider behind, it's your own responsibility to beware of movements like this, and it was certainly not a move intended to bring Izagirre down.

What an absolute amazing race and an absolute battle in the last stage.
So many good performances and also Vingegaard who is an absolute wrecking ball in the peloton, Did you see him doing the football gesture to Ion after he took him down? the same gesture football players do to their opponents when they they think they are acting, like get up, stop acting, once again Vinge, wrong sport.
Remco´s best race in his career. and Martinez brutally strong.

Izagirre was insane.
That WT relegation doesn't seem to be getting close with Israel and LTS being miles away from the 18th spot.
Good. Much rather have Cofidis there than a terribly-run retirement home backed by a shady country, or a team that's been complacent with a decade-long slide and now can't even support their one remaining world-class rider properly. Of course DSM dropping out would be even better but you can't have everything.

Nice to see Gall finish 10th on a hard stage that was raced properly.
He's from a village next to Lienz, so his next race, the Tour of the Alpes, is his homerace and with this kibd of form a stage win or top 10 on the gc is possible.

I suppose he saw Vingegaard looking back and thought that would be enough to stop deviating to the left. But clearly that's not how Vingegaard thinks.

As expected, the stage delivered! When Primoz attacked for a moment I thought that an epic ride would happen but it turned out to be help for Vingegaard. Brutal Krabelin was a game changer as expected - first time Remco was dropped there. The front group was strong but falls happen on the descend - both Movistar guys plus something happened to Martinez. This probably helped Remco bridge the gap (Martinez also helped) but on the final climb he was dropped again after an acceleration (and definitely this time but he was fighting well till the end and didn't lose much). Unbelievable ride by Formolo - he was leading the stage, got cought by the leaders and attacked again! (fu**ing up the KOM in the meantime for some reason). Great comeback by Izaggire after a fall and deserved victory for Martinez who was always there in the final kilometers controlling the situation. Congrats.

I herewith present you the Bobbi Traksel quotes of today's race:

"Bask country is just slightly higher ranked than Poland and San Sebastian"

"Please be aware that Dani Martinez and Daniel Felipe Martinez are two different riders"

"PeLo Bilbo" (yes with L and without the a)

"Joenas Vinjebo"

"Aaaguuu-errr" (With means AG2R)

or a team that's been complacent with a decade-long slide and now can't even support their one remaining world-class rider properly.

Let's not pretend like Cofidis has been better the last 3 years (this year they are better tho). This is like their 2nd WT win in 3 years time. LTS has like 17. And that "can't support Ewan" narrative can stop too. They might not have the best leadout in the world, but it's still a good one and more importantly, Ewan himself fucks up his sprint a lot of the time. He also is one of the prime reasons LTS doesn't score enough points because he keeps going after those 2 big goals in a year and has had some bad luck then. LTS letting Ewan do what he wants is literally supporting him, and it costs the team.

Both teams are not WT Worthy, just like DSM or Astana right now but they have enough points already.

Okay, the second one is unforgiveable :grimacing:

The rest is not exactly quality stuff either.

Traksel is a disaster even by Dutch (not Dutch-speaking, obviously) commentator standards. The only circumstance under which I consider switching to Dutch Eurosport these days is when Sporza aren't showing the race and Kirby is doing the English commentary...
