I just read that article and had to shake my head in disbelief. Regardless if Jan doped himself to the gills, what does the UCI have to gain by pursuing this case? The man retired and doesn't look like he will ever resume his cycling career. Besides the UCI did effectively kill his career by blacklisting him about the Puerto affair, so haven't they accomplished enough already?
+1.

The UCI is very stupid. They should act only if he decides to come back. Just like it happened with Vinokurov.

This is why the world has too many lawyers. It's not the lawyers faults (well, not always), it's entities like the UCI wasting money doing something that results in nothing. This is not even a case of it being delayed, Ullrich has been out of cycling for how long now? The guy was worse than banned, he was completely jettisoned!

Another sign of intelligence for the f*cking UCI. Man, does my sport drive me crazy sometimes. It makes me want to crumple my race number at the next race I'm in and pay a fine in Swiss Francs :p

Ulle must have made some big enemies at some point in his career! The irony of him still being chased 4 years on from Puerto, despite having done the decent thing and left the sport, while another person that used dope to win the Tour de France continues to lord it over the sport and enjoy complete protection.

How does the UCI intend to force the Swiss to sanction Ullrich if it wins its appeal? It seems to me that the Swiss response should be to say with a wink, "Yeah, we'll get right on it," and then not spend any time or money on the case, letting it drag on and on until it is irrelevant. They have already delayed for years.

Maybe banning him from riding his bicycle around the neighborhood.:D

No more riding to the strudel shop or beer garden. Additional sanctions may include confiscation of his basket.

Maybe now that LA is getting carved up for being fat he is suffering from Folie a deux? He is maniacal enough, and has funded the UCI previously for 'research purposes', to attack just about anyone.
