Jaw changes in cyclists?

I know an medical hormone specialist (endocrinologist) who claims that HGH doping is common, and was so for years in cycling and athletics.

With HGH you can lower the body fat extremely fast (weeks). However, there are several side effects: Growing of nose, jaw, tongue. Increased distance between teeth. Elongation and groth of hands and feet.

My friend claims that Carl Lewis had dental operations repeatedly due to HGH related teeth problems.

Have any of you noted changes in the dental/jaw appearance of specific elite cyclists over the years? Photos before/after would be interesting.

check out Johnny Hoogerland's different shaped head since he turned pro.

"breaking the chain" (I think) details riders changing shoe size mid season.

That must be the Villy Voet book. Hoogerland cranium looks a bit like that of Rasmussen in some photos.

I used to think that Cadel had HGH face but having seen him when he was younger I think he's always looked like that. Someone else said his dad looks like that too.

Thought about this a while ago. A few that have struck me:

Phil Anderson

Hermino Diaz-Zabala

Fabian Cancellara

These guys have elongated jaws and, esp. in the case of Anderson and Zabala, noticeable underbites. Will search for pics when I have time.

generally, pictures in early carreer and now ("before and after") in profile would be interesting.

Of course, most pro riders are/become thin. Making the face more pointed. That does not necessarily mean they have taken HGH.

I wil try to find old pictures of Basso. His jaw is very pointed in this tour.

Usual dosage in for enhanced recovery and body composition in endurance sports is 2 iu e2d, ed during intensive preparation or stage racing. Acromegaly happens at higher doses and/or after really long term (ab)use and corresponding accumulation.

Damn guys, what you consider acromegaly is called "aging" and the effect of many, many miles in the saddle. Look at your own old photos when you were 16-20 and compare to 10 years after.

Not claiming that young Schleck is GH-free but this is just ridiculous.

Shoe size

Its all about the shoe size. Anyone over 25 ever had to change their actual shoe size? I've worn the same size of Adidas running shoes for years.

It would be a good question to ask someone under oath in a court room setting.

"Have you changed shoe sizes in the past few years?"

Schleck just looks skinny in those photos.

This. ^^

I think with normal aging, soft connective tissue in the face changes, as well as perhaps some of the musculature. My face at 29 looks pretty different compared to 19, but I doubt there is much change to the underlying bone morphology.

Michael Jackson paid a lot of money for a chin like that

This thread is *** and I beleive part of some kind of campaign to shift attention away from Lance. Using your logic, you should be bringing up Hincapie who has a mellon that dwarfs Musseuw's (king dope) and gives Botero's ("No, for the last time I am not Lurch") a run his money.

+1. This stuff is like the "evidence" that was used to ferret out the witch in "The Holy Grail". Hey--maybe Monty Python could do a cycling movie!
