Jonas Vingegaard Rasmussen, the new alpha mutant

Combine 10% higher W/kg and a ~10% lower CdA and going nearly as fast in a TT with some hills in it is hardly the craziest outlier.
I am not convinced. And I also don't think that is how the physics calculations work.

Edit: The rolling hills in that TT are irrelevant to a rider like WvA. Only mountains would favor Vingegaard. Short sharp explosive hills actually favor the rider who can generate the greatest peak power - that is Wout.

So what is the issue here, that Vingo doesn't get enough attention for his relative alieness? I mean, both he and van der Poel have demonstrated some truly extraterrestrial powers. It's just in comparison to the amazing Pogo, who can seemingly kick both of their butts, they're just really isn't a comparison.

Directly from cyclingnews "It emphasised the point that, this year Tadej Pogačar can seemingly do what he wants, when he wants." He thumped Vingo badly in a stage race, then smoked van der Poel on his territory in Flanders.

So Vingo is pretty entertaining. But he is not the most alien.

Isn’t the issue bleedingly obvious?

Grand tours, MTFs and TTs are where alien is most obvious (Watts per Kg). Until Pog does what he wants at the TdF I’d prefer more attention on the bloke who upset the Apple cart in 2022.

Monuments like PR are a different kettle of fish. Yes the issue was Vingo wasn’t getting adequate attention. We seem to be equalising as I noticed nobody had posted here since mid March whilst Vingo was showing signs he is already in near 2022 TdF winning form yet people still flogging a dead horse in the Froome thread? The forum certainly has its favourites and villains.

Knowing how Pog turned the cycling world upside down it was a bit much to see Vingegaard avoiding scrutiny here after the 2022 TdF outcome.

Avoiding scrutiny? I don't know why you tell yourself that, but it's clearly not true. Plenty of people were talking about him. Look at the title of the thread, lol
Huh? It’s true all right. Until I stepped in a week or so ago there were no posts here since mid March? Since then he did a crazy time winning a MTF in Spain (Itzulia) and a few have noted he seems better than at the same time last year.

As I mentioned lots of people spending time posting about the past (Froome), when the present and future was being given a free pass. I am sorry but skeleton climbers doing that stage 20 TT in TdF and his career trajectory to overcome the previously alien benchmark Pogacar needs scrutiny. Much more. Double standards.

You specifically said after the 2022 Tour. This entire thread was made during that Tour and was plenty active.

Pogacar has overall had many more crazy performancesthan Vingegaard, and he started doing them a couple of years earlier, so of course his thread will be longer at this stage. That should be blindingly obvious.

If Vingegaard crushes Pogacar at the Tour, this thread will be on fire. Don't worry about it.

I’m flabbergasted by the lot of them but I’m too disillusioned to post about it. Nothing will be done about it. I just accept it and try to enjoy the show. It’s not as bad as the Froome years when you just knew he was going to win.

The Froome years were also bad because he was a bit of a... sh*t. For real. This was for example typical Froomey: UCI Investigating Tenerife Anti-Doping Claims By Chris Froome – Evolutionary.org

It was claimed by the 29-year-old that there had been no tests for leading riders including him, Alberto Contador, and Vincenzo Nibali. The sport's governing body said we are looking into the matter with the Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation. Froome had expressed disappointment not to have been tested during the last two weeks while training in Tenerife.

i.e. basically saying "Contador & Nibali are doping"... all whilst he was shooting Salbutamol or whatnot up his own arrogant hypocritical butt.

His super fans were (are?) just as bad. The Froome thread in the clinic for example is only so massive because he had loyalists defending him against all suspicions, year after year.

Vingegaard? Maybe some Danes might get ultra-defensive but considering how supersonic all the top cyclists have become in recent years, I think a lot of people realise (even subconsciously) something borderline against the rules is going on with all these 'generational talents' currently crushing records & producing higher watts than Chernobyl in its glory days.

I’ve made my points. Let’s see what happens in the TdF.

Maybe we are yet to see what it really means when our mighty Skeleton goes thermonuclear. Last year he dropped watt bombs only 4-5 km from the line (with a devastating effect) and even mentioned that the pace set by McNulty (who crushed all other guys except the top2) wasn't that strong. Get ready for Pantani like stuff when Vinge gets bored by a slow tempo and nose breathing sooner (or is forced to attack by some early time loss) o_O Pogi may need to lose a lot of weight by July to deal with the fishy power.

Did he really say that, or was it one of those things that people were quoting him for, but there was no real record of him ever saying?
He said the pace was lower on the final climb, and that it didn’t help him when it would be decided in a sprint. Or words to that effect, iirc.

And the pace was lower on Peyresourde than Azet.

because everyone on this forum already agrees that he's doping. there's nobody in here claiming he or his team are clean. there's not much to discuss after that. his 2000+ VAM performances are *** crazy, sure, but what is there that needs to be discussed?

Bump. No activity here recently as our hero was disassembled and upgraded in a lab. But oh man, it will change soon. Dauphine is around the corner and the Skeleton 3.0 may want to test his engine before July's clash of the mutants. The last stage is good for a 50 km solo. Gonna be epic!
