Insane talent only after he signed for UAE.

Time stamp watch Patrick accuse French riders of doping! He's soon to be vlab DS. He's saying he can promise Bardet is clean though. Even Benji was shocked by him this time.

Wow😱

Also it's very clear this ep that he already has a lot to say in vlab. He ain't a noob 4 sure. So even if this comment was about ketones it still was very surprising and hardly keeping the omerta
That's actually not what he said. He said the French often throw aspersions at other riders, implying they dope, but when the French win, all is forgotten. He's speaking about French hypocrisy and rather than saying the French are doping he is implying that if the French are clean and beat other riders, then ergo, the other riders are also clean.

This, of course, is ridiculously disingenuous, as those first two French victories were not "à la pedal", and Bardet hasn't been able to ride that way in about 8 years. French victories are still extremely rare and they still haven't won the Tour in 39 years. I miss the old LR when he was just some nerd in his basement and actually took the p*ss out of cycling.

I guess it would be funny seeing a Paralympian win the Tour de France but... it's still too soon to say what's going on here.

Stage 1 & 2 were very atypical, especially stage 2. It's like passing judgement on who's going to win the Tour after they climb Mende. It's not the high mountains, long cols & multi-mountain stages. The effort is very different. It's not an ITT either (which could be a real interesting one as Sean Kelly says).

Yesterday gave pointers of course but it's far from a definitive answer regarding a rider's prospects over 3 weeks.

"I had to take a long break after my crash. I had a lot of injuries that needed to heal before I was able to train properly. It's one thing when you can start riding outside, it's another thing when you can start to do proper training. It was mostly about making it in time for the Tour de France."

This must be BS. You can't take a long break in training for an event that demands peak condition. A marathon runner could not take a long break 2 months before the race. Simply not possible.

Expert analysis of what real talent looks like, folks.

Vingo trained intervals in Mallorca when being bullied into pictures by fat amateurs. This will decide the Tour.

Compare hist pre-UAE results with junior results of Evenepoel, Pidcock and Van der Poel and you might recognize real talent.
Because everybody has developed the same amount at 18. Pogačar was still chubby when he started winning at the pros. Which performance enhancers did UAE have that only work on Pogačar and boosted him by huge amounts in 2018/2019 whilst their team was languishing in the lower half of the World Tour? Oh, right, I have one, not riding for a mid continental team from an underdeveloped cycling scene which doesn‘t have access to world class coaches.

Not everyone develops in the same way, but a sudden increase in performance after a team change is always suspicious, especially when the management worked at Saunier Duval.
Anyway, I don't trust either mutant. Let's see what both aliens will do on the Galibier tomorrow.
