Jonas Vingegaard: Something is Rotten

Page 121 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
No words!! He is a different beast in July! Next time, he will break a leg before and will win the Tour
I think we'll see a repeat of the last two years despite Vingegaard's accident. He'll follow Pogacar until we reach the third week, then he'll bury him on stages 19, 20, and 21. Pogacar will be the most spectacular and flashy of the two, but Vingegaard will have superior w/kg numbers. If this is the plan B version of him, imagine if he hadn't had the accident ...

Everyone else - Evenepoel, Roglic, Carapaz, Rodriguez - will be riding a secondary race.

If Vingegaard wins the TdF three times in a row, and under these circumstances, that should also elevate his status in the history of the sport - and raise more suspicion. Who came before him? Froome, Armstrong, Indurain ...

He can even take yellow after Galibier, maybe. Then we're on track for another Danish fairytale!

"I'm surprised by my own strength. Hadn't expected to be this good".

Jonas has become very good at the PR, this comeback is building up to be a great storyline already. Wait until he begins dedicating his victory to his sick pet goldfish back in Denmark. That’ll tug at the heartstrings.

I think it's unrelated. A wish for more varied and novel uphill finishes, and maybe also to do with fan behaviour.

MTFs in the Tour:

2024: Pla d'Adet | Beille | Isola 2000 | Couillole
2023: Cambasque | Puy de Dôme | Grand Colombier | Bettex
2022: Granon | Alpe d'Huez | Peyragudes | Hautacam
2021: Tignes | Portet | Luz-Ardiden
2020: Orcières Merlette | Aigoual | Peyrol | Grand Colombier | Loze | Planche des Belles Filles (PdBF)
2019: Super PdBF | Tourmalet | Prat d'Albis | (Tignes) | Val Thorans
2018: La Rosière | Alpe d'Huez | Portet
2017: PdBF | Peyragudes | Izoard
2016: Arcalis | (Ventoux) | Finhaut-Emosson | Bettex
2015: Pierre Saint-Martin | Beille | Pra Loup | La Toussuire | Alpe d'Huez

Only the legendary (Super) Planche des Belles Filles has been more popular!
I don't think it's not a deliberate wish for more variation, but more competition from hosting locations for a slot.
