I mean its no question he is worse than Pog; he was really a nobody before; Froome had more talent than this guy
For me a comparison between Froome & Vingegaard is splitting hairs, i.e. different eras, same symptoms.
Both landed in an ambitious team on the rise & both benefitted from a program already in place. Wiggins came before Froome, Roglic came before Vingegaard, whilst both Froome & Vingegaard came from nowhere & displayed unnatural superiority over their rivals. Vingegaard's history is a joke, i.e. anyone who handpicks his past performances (pre-2021) as evidence of his future champion credentials might as well say at least 100 young riders can drop watts mega bombs in the next 24 months & win the TdF. Following their logic we might as well believe Giovanni Aleotti (23 year old Bora rider & winner of the recent Sibiu Cycling Tour) is going to smash the 2025 Tour, for example. Generational talents (because that's what a TdF winner is supposed to be) should show a lot more than Vingegaard did.
And all things considered, Vingegaard at his current level would trounce peak Froome & probably rival Lance Armstrong circa 2000 (comparable Hautacam climbing time & he never looked on the limit). I guess that really just demonstrates how far down the rabbit hole into doping culture the peloton has once again plunged head first.
The question is always the same, i.e. will the bubble burst? For every Lance who eventually got busted, there's loads of super doped counter-examples who dominated for years before they casually retired with their riches & fame.
