Sadly one Bjerg is in Italy right now.I'd guess there's a Berg or two in Denmark he can train at.

Which would set him up well for next year and long-term for the GT tripleI think it's a more plausible scenario that they will try to prepare him as well as possible for the Vuelta, where he would be the favourite even if not at 100%.
Summing up the level of someone’s physical status as follows: “he can carry out normal daily activities: walking around, changing clothes, moving his arm” just 6 weeks prior the start of a GT is hardly ideal. I don’t know what’s possible from him but it’s difficult to understand why some folks say he’ll be ready for the Tour, no problem.
If they are even considering Wout for plan A they have to have him in full preparation for that now. More weight reduction and pure climbing work than even his usual domestique years. It would be interesting to see him go for GC just to see what actually happens, but wouldn’t Kuss be their first man after Vingegaard?I just read in local media that Plugge said if Jonas won't be 100% then he won't defend his Tour tittle and if recovered then van Aert will be Vismas plan A.

For green jersey?
The problem with these crashes is sometimes a rider can be 100% a month later and sometimes it takes a whole career down. Too hard to know right out the gate. Cramps in a race can cause a single missed pedal stroke or a DNF. There’s still too little info out there.
I was going off the idea they seemed to actually be going for GC with him in the Giro and I could see him theoretically getting on the podium in a perfect Tour. Seems weird for them to be reduced to stage hunters and green jersey candidate after last few years.I assume likely not racing for GC and instead try to win stages. If neither Wout or Jonas will be ready then indeed it will be interesting to see on what strategy Visma will choose. Natural selection would indeed likely be Kuss and a team in support of his GC aspirations.

My opinion is based on similar cases that happened in the past (across multiple sports). There were cases where it took longer for athletes to come back but those are the exception.Summing up the level of someone’s physical status as follows: “he can carry out normal daily activities: walking around, changing clothes, moving his arm” just 6 weeks prior the start of a GT is hardly ideal. ed. Better sentence would be “difficult to understand why some folks think it will be no problem for him to be ready for the Tour.”
Don’t worry, we’ve been told repeatedly he’ll be there and only has to be in 70% shape to win as it’s just the final week that’s important.According to danish media he got on the hometrainer on precisely the 29th of April. That’s is much later than expected. I now doubt his TDF.
He can attack in the third week.Don’t worry, we’ve been told repeatedly he’ll be there and only has to be in 70% shape to win as it’s just the final week that’s important.
They never said what the team plan. But we all fairly well decided he is not a GC rider and maybe was riding for appearance fee, days in pink, and possibly the points classification jerseyI was going off the idea they seemed to actually be going for GC with him in the Giro and I could see him theoretically getting on the podium in a perfect Tour. Tour is a mirage.86 days before the Tour: Crash, broken ribs and punctured lung, hospitalisation in ICU.
74 days before the Tour: Leaves hospital.
61 days before the Tour: First day on a home-trainer.
53 days before the Tour: First day training outside in Denmark.
Status now, 45 days before the Tour: Lungs are perhaps still not fully recovered, still in pain, limited training volume. Not yet ready for altitude camps.
