What is the problem? It will be good for the union of the group.
I don't think he even needs to gift it. That would mean both of them are better than anyone else? Or race dynamics make it so. But I think there are others that are also at the level of Jorgenson, and for Visma to win it, Vingegaard will drop them all.

I don't know, he doesn't look all that great tbh. He might be able to grind them down on the long climbs but I think he is starting in worse shape then the last couple years. Not really worried as I think that's the plan.

Jonas haters really are the weirdest people.

Loving your family is apparently the worst crime a bike rider can commit.
It is not about that. It is attacking your teammate (Kuss) and hiding behind your daughter. Today he showed it again and I hope more people understand the type of guy he is and what happed at the Vuelta, Btw I am all in favor of attacking even a teammate but just come out and say it like a man (e.g. Roglic) and do not hide behind family.

Vingo not better than mere mortals now. Maybe he doesn't like this weather, maybe he will get better towards the race end. We will see.

He lost to Gaudu in Paris Nice 2 years ago. This is not a worse level than that. And we have yet to see real mountains.

We'll have to see whether he's just waiting a long time to peak. And how strong Pogacar is this year. I'm not massively optimistic, but who knows.

I don't think this version of Vingegaard would have been able to attack and later attempt to respond to an attack from Pogačar. He killed himself by doing that, of course, but he still looked stronger that day than he does at the moment. However after Algarve, and considering he hasn't been at altitude yet, I didn't expect him to be flying here anyway.

I think I can speak for a lot of us. He is probably having a more relaxed spring and keep his freshness for the Tour-Vuelta. However, no one would expect Vingegaard to be this bad and lose to Almeida for the second time in a hilly/mountain stage. Vingegaard is miles better than everyone except Pogacar that his base level is good enough to win and beat easily his rivals so this is strange IMHO.

Maybe this weather and neutralization really affected him? (look at his physique). We will know more later this week. Decisive stages will help us assess his level better. Not looking really good now, that I agree with.

I love trolling Visma or mocking the Skeletor but surely everyone (except for the Roglic cult) by now has realized that this has been completely disproven.
Vingegaard was the one lobbying to keep Kuss in red, Roglic in second and himself "only" in third early on after Remco had cracked. It was the Roglic camp that wanted to keep "racing it out" because they smelled blood that Roglic could leapfrog Kuss and then would be defended by the team to stay in first. Only when this strategy backfired (because unlike Roglic Vingegaard actually has attacking spirit outside the 500m banner) and Vingegaard leapfroged Roglic into second it become a PR drama that Vingegaard was apparently "too greedy". And after it was clear that Roglic couldn't drop Vingegaard on Angliru, Visma intervened - with Vingegaards consent who was in favour of Kuss winning all along - and ordered them to ride for Kuss for the final stages.

Even today, he clearly protected Jorgenson for the first couple of attacks by only following but I guess he got the green light to go himself at some point. Still funny that he got mugged by Almeida in the end, that climb clearly won't become his friend.

Vingegaard is not bad in difficult conditions. Gran Camino, Tirreno Adriatico, etc. Of course he is not like Pogacar and prefers hot weather but he is not bad in the rain.

The trend continues.
Visma looking good in TTs and not so good in road races. Even Jorgenson was weak despite following wheels for most of the climb.

Don't take this away from him, he has so little.

Nothing to worry about, like his coach said last week in a interview.

There will be two goals in the summer. Different preparation this year, and probably he will still win this race.

His Danish interview was even worse.

~~"We as riders should have united and told them that it makes no sense to continue."

Interestingly, he said that the deal was that he was only allowed to attack if he could get away alone. A bit puzzling as Martinez was so far back in GC that he could have been very helpful to have with him.
