Ego and confidence seem to be used interchangeably, fine enough, but frequently ego is used to express unrealistic confidence. Certainly not the case with TP or any top level pro.
*That goes for every level: the top HS kid has an ego, and so on until they reach the top (with max ego). Their ego may manifest and be demonstrated differently, but if you aren't confident, you won't make it to the top.
