If Jumbo could have kept it more tight, they would also gotten the stage..which they admit was a focus today, but Gall rode brilliantly and the gap was too big and that was a mistake from the team.

Vingegaard was 2.50 min after Gall & Co at like 12 to 13km out, when Jonas moved and also got hampered with that bike/car TdF-blockage and had to stop up and manually walk around the car, which certainly didn't help to close the gap, but Jonas still managed to drop all the GC guys around him and get it down to 1½ minute, before Gall took the finish climb in an intense tempo, that was faster then Vingegaard's pace - and got in around 1.52 min ahead of Vingegaard.
Huge & deserved stage win to Gall.

Jumbo were playing very defensive, I honestly think Vingegaard didn't feel that good and had his team not pace for that reason.
No sure I agree, seemed like van Baarle, van Aert and Kuss were not on a perfect day. Ineos doms cracked bot van Baarle and van Aert. When he well attacked, Vinge took a lot of time both on Gall and on A Yates et al. He might not have been on a super day, he looked a bit laboured before he caught up to Kelderman, and when Kelderman paced him they didn't take much time on Gall, but then Vinge went again and the time dropped rapidly. But after yesterdays explosion it's understandable he might not have super legs. But still very impressive when you compare with the other riders.

My man on you in the payroll? He is 90s level, no need to pretend otherwise.

No clinic reference, just talking performances here.
No.

I'm judging Vingegaards performances by comparing them to Vingegaards previous performances this Tour. Others are comparing him to some other guy in a vastly different stage 3 years ago and act like this result is unexpected.

It's like some runner first goes 2 minutes faster on a half marathon and then acting mega surprised when they also go 2 minutes faster on a full marathon.

They didn't need to pace, others were doing the work for them. I think he was feeling fine. The only thing is that he probably has a little too much respect for Pogacar, it was pretty clear already before he got dropped that Pogi really was suffering. But it's like Vingegaard just can't believe it when that happens.

Am I the only one here irritated about how Vingegaard even after riding the most dominant TT possibly ever and gaining 6 minutes today still feels the need to say "Pogacar never gives up he'll still try something" in interviews.

Just say things are looking good now and you are ready for whatever happens or something. It's almost patronising towards the competition at this point.

At this point I fully expect him to be on Pogacar's wheel highly alert all throughout the final stage.
Kind of agree, but Pogacar really is Pogacar, so even Vingegaard fears him… One thing is clear, Vingegaard has to be 100% until Saturday evening, and stay on his bike - then it looks good. But almost no time advantage is safe enough to not fear Pogacar…

Time for Vinegaard to try the Giro-Tour double next year? His dominance these past two years has been impressive. It would also make the TDF more interesting with Vinegaard having a grand tour already under his belt.
Maybe vuelta after the tour. I think his main focus should be on being the best version of himself in the tour, to try to win a lot of tours. He can try the vuelta without pressure after the tour. Later in his career, he can try the giro.
