Teams & Riders Jonas Vingegaard thread: Love in Iberia

He obviously can't nor should he have a guaranteed spot in the team, considering the current strength among the Danish riders. But it does sound like he will be representing the national team next year in the EC and/or WC (but a lot can of course change within a year).
Vingegaard saw how Pog was more popular despite making 60km attacks and has now started reading CN forum and made bucket list of items to do to be liked.

He probably talked with Trine and they concluded they might as well stay for a bit longer in France now that they are there anyways, the child is a bit older etc. etc. And yes, Im serious about that...

He wants to race in Paris, but not in Tokyo makes no sense though. How's Worlds looking anyways in 2024?

He's going to quit using his cell phone and will attack any photographer or camera person, who spends more than a lingering second with their camera pointed at his wife and child. Oh, and he is for sure to tell his team to ride with Pog, whenever Pog attacks and there is a teammate there, who can help pull Pog and share the work...

Why would Bjerg be fixed?

But I would hope Vingegaard will not be selected if there is doubt as to who should be selected now that he has ditched national team events for so long.
Don’t know if it’s because the itt suits him?
The tt riders cannot be replaced for road race so you just loose a spot. But Vingegaard is also pretty decent on a tt bike.
No, but we do have a former prime minister who's ripped off the whole script from that show.
Tbf t’was a pretty good script.

Not when looking at parcours, but I think it makes sense that having won the Tour he slowly begins to look at a slightly more adventurous race program.

So according to the Clinic thread, he won't go to altitude and didn't look at the parcours until Monday... lol.

It's starting to look a bit like a yolo Vuelta for Vingegaard. Not that he's not serious about it, but that he only prepared for the Tour and now the Vuelta is just 0 pressure and if he fades then so be it.

Yup. He prefers lighter training at home (close to family) instead of going to the altitude soon. The reasons for that are both mental and physical IMO. He needs some reset. They don't want to overload him with training too soon after the Tour and just want to see how he goes at the Vuelta. I still think he'll have some decent post-rest training for 3 weeks before the race.

Yes, he plans to train in Denmark only (as per his interview on Sporza.be).

Doesn't seem to be in a rush to meet up with Rogla and the rest of the Jumbo Vuelta squad.

As we know, Vingegawd also plans to win the race. Just imagine how confident he must be to even entertain this thought.

Altitude isn't that useful if it's short, plus he needs to recover anyway. Probably wants some family time as well, he does seem like a bit of a homeboy.

That barely makes any sense if Jumbo says they have planned going to the Vuelta since November. I can't imagine that you're planning that without glancing at the route beforehand.. because Vingegaard seems like a guy who's pretty interested in that stuff since race routes are very important for his chances of winning compared to other riders IMO.

Then again, maybe he's just been 100% focused on TdF without given a single *** or thought about La Vuelta and is just full blown yolo'ing it for *** and giggles. No altitude, no recon, no nothing.
