And safe to say one of the best GC riders ever.He is still very easily the second-best GC rider right now, also with quite a gap still to the 3rd-best GC rider (whoever you think that is).
Looking great, definitely on schedule for a dominant Giro. After getting to 90 kg for Roubaix Pogi will need to reduce his mass very fast!
hes in better shape than i expected before the race
i think the 2024 tour and how he got there took a lot out of him and that he was burned out at the end of the season and so couldnt build as good a base as other years
He finished his season in August and started his season in October. I don't buy that, I am more inclined to a change of coach.hes in better shape than i expected before the race

I actually think that due to his obsession with the classics (rightfully so), the duel may be very, very close. Don't think the Giro will have much of a negative impact over Vingegaard.
It wouldn't really.I'd like to see him and Pogacar share a couple more Tour wins/podiums between them, in a way it would add more to Pogacar's legacy/legend than a repeat of the last couple of years.
It's still too early to say. We haven't seen Pogacar in full flight yet, SB didn't force him to dig deep. After April we will know more: wheather his dominance is getting even stronger or the other way around. After just one race I would say it's looking similar (but one data point is not enough). In case of Vingo also too little data so far.
The point is Vingegaard needs to improve a lot because he will not win the TdF if he isn't able to drop Pogacar.I don't think we'll know more about Pogacar untill Romandie, at the earliest.
He may be stronger and evan win San Remo and Roubaix (even due to strength) and I don't think it will have any relevance to his performance in the mountains in July. And that's my point, which is obviously not based on any fact YET.
Due to his focus in the classics, he may regress a little in the high mountains. And if Vingegaard is a bit better, things my be very close.
But yes, very early days.

Considering how Vingegaard came out of the Vuelta, I would definitely say that there's reason to worry.Don't think the Giro will have much of a negative impact over Vingegaard.
