He is still very easily the second-best GC rider right now, also with quite a gap still to the 3rd-best GC rider (whoever you think that is).
And safe to say one of the best GC riders ever.
Although i'll always have hope for Almeida, if Ving doesn't have any bad luck, he will most likely win the Giro without much trouble.

Good to see Vingo back on top again today. I'd sworn years ago that I would never be a Vingo fan but he is slowly winning me over. This is partly due to the fact that he has become so overshadowed by Pog and the new generation of potential superstars. And secondly, I also think the guy has a more interesting and humorous personality than people give him credit for. I find it refreshing to have a rider with his pragmatic nature and complete lack of consideration for cyclings conservatism. No one else in the current peloton gives out the same no *** vibes as Vingo, in my opinion.

By the way, if you haven't already, go watch the latest LRCP episode :D
