Just throw on 32mm tubeless tires with inserts for one stage. How much can it possibly cost you on tarmac, 10w? Should be fine for vingegaard and co, I think they can spare 10w.

Better to play for no mechanicals than assume you won't; especially in a Tour scenario where team cars get chaotic.

He doesn't expect Wout to ride the Tour next year. Kuss to play a similar role in the Tour as usual, but he will probably be the captain in the Vuelta as the defending champion.

It was only after Angliru that they were told to ride for Kuss to win, before that they were all told to race for the title, which bothered Vingegaard.

This new role as a plan-B, backup general classification challenger for Kuss means that Jumbo-Visma could see similar infighting as happened at the Vuelta a Espana this year. "I don't think I'll lose him as the main uphill servant, but we need to talk about it," Vingegaard explains. "It may be that Sepp has wishes, but we have to look at how we have the best chance of winning the Tour. If that's me, we'll ride for me. But it can also be done in a different way."

However, it's the loss of van Aert and van Hooydonck from the Tour de France lineup of Jumbo-Visma that really concerns Vingegaard. "Wout's big goal is probably the Giro next year, and then probably the Olympic Games, I can imagine. The course in Paris suits him very well, which may be the reason why he did not want to ride the Tour de France," Vingegaard says of van Aert.

They also kept him in the GC this year and at the Giro and Adam Yates had similar role for UAE.

Wout is a monster and it will be felt if he isn't there monstering it up. But something can also be said for having dedicated all doms to one goal the entire tour so they don't spend a lot of energy on Mads Pedersen stages unless Pogi is in the break.

Hooydonck has been immense, especially in Vingegaards first win I think he was really important.
But he isn't the only big guy in Jumbo's arsenal.

But Jumbo has some pretty strong riders that wasn't even close to getting into the Tour squad.

If Wout v A does the Giro and hops over the Tour for the Olympics, then he'll be missed on like, the first two stages and the gravel one. He's been often sent up the road too in hilly stages. If Remco, Roglic & Pogacar are all doing the Tour, it'll be a real headache making sure the break is no danger.

Kuss seems to be the "Adam Yates" at Visma - protected rider, as they say, at the Tour and probably Kuss and Vingegaard doing the Vuelta with both as "team leaders".

So the Vingegaards have decided to relocate to the more affluent part of Europe ("a billionaire in every home!"), namely Switzerland. Apparently he & the rest of the family are moving to Ticino (near Mads Pedersen's abode) but will also get somewhere near in France (I imagine the Swiss authorities are willing to turn a blind eye to a certain extent, but there are standards to be maintained after all ... income above a certain level and be able to parle one of the 4 languages etc.).

if he resides in Switzerland, there's no point living in Monaco. he can get a bigger house in the Cote d'Azur countryside

Maybe he did 2 or 3 altitude training camps before the Tour.

He was certainly at home between the tour and the vuelta. Maybe he could had done a even better preparation if he lived in switzerland before the vuelta.

If Visma wanted this move, probably they think he can have more benefits in terms of training.

I dislike Jumbo, but somehow, as a Froome fan, I can't dislike Vingegaard 8I wished he'd win the Vuelta and not Kuss). and tbf Jumbo and him are not getting a very hard time on here and twitter. the golden years of the Clinic are gone. his "skeletor" name is almost cute. the 2015-2018 wild years of the Clinic are gone. Jumbo can sleep tight

We'll probably hear what his program will be at the team presentation, I think he'll do P-N & Catalunya before the Ardennes, but I'd rather see him do a fully Spanish spring with Andalucia, Catalunya & Itzulia.

I would do a usual tenerife training camp in February and then the following program:

Gran Camiño or UAE tour
Strade Bianche
Gp Denain
Cataluña (battle with Pogacar)
Pais Vasco

Dauphine
Tour de France

Vuelta

Best prep for le tour and staying away from cold races
