Hey you guys are talking like his season already ended...let's see what's gonna happen in the second part!
In the end I guess the new environment, and especially the new training method, were a complete shock for his system...

Wait a lil' bit more and you'll see lots of wonders from JTL!

Only a select few can handle the insanely hard training programs Kerrison makes. The rest get destroyed. See Dombrowski, JTL, Boswell, the entire classics team, even Uran...all are underperforming massively.

There are a lot of riders on Sky at the moment who are very frustrated with Kerrison's methods, and I heard that a few of them have already stopped following his training plans.

And yet you look at froome, porte, wiggins and even kyrienka and sitsou (sp) to realise that kerrison is doing something right at least in the stage racers

Obviously Kerrison's methods work better with some riders than others. Not doing Froome or Porte any harm.

Pippo may be right, give JTL a bit longer to shine but then again based upon the thread title you'd have expected him to be ready by now.

Dave Brailsford really wanted him at Sky (and set the worlds GB team up to support him) so obviously he believes that JTL can make it and indeed he wants JTL to make it in the world tour

Is Uran under Kerrison? I know he was a little unhappy at starting his season in Mallorca - he usually trains in Colombia until the end of February, but the team wanted him to change things around this year.

I'd give him at least 2 seasons before starting to expect him to perform up to the level he's been hyped up to. This season to get he bearing together and get used to riding in the professional peloton, then next season to adjust to the racing (i.e. actually finish the bigger races, get used to riding more at the front, etc). And the season after that start looking at getting some results.

All depends on his progression through this season and next though. Might not take that many seasons, might take more.

If i were Sky- i would send him to Poland- he should go well there.

Other than that, for now he just has to recuperate, get comfortable in the peleton and ride for a plethora of leaders.

The Tour of Poland is taking place on Italian mountains this year so won't suit him. The best he can hope for this year is to get back into form to defend his title in the Tour of Britain. If he can get back for that then he can lead the British team in the worlds and maybe go for that Chinese rubbish afterwards.

Im not sure whether the ToB route will favour him too much with the 10 mile TT. He may have a decent chance in the GB road race though, with the TDF guys likely to miss it again and skys monopoly on the race.

where was the none option ?

4 legendary cyclists have won 5 times. No one has won more than 5. Tiernan-Locke has not show any ability other than that of a domestique. Therefore no matter what you vote, statistics say all the choices mean none:D
You can say that the choices are fantasy, super fantasy, Incredible Fantasy and Impossible:p

It's not the TDF- the poll is about how many GT's he will.

Jacques, Eddy, Bernard and Miguel also won other GT's other than the TDF too.

Nuh-uh. He already redeemed his "illness transformation" coupon when mono caused him to quit a few years ago, meaning he broke out comparatively late. He's struggling to match up to that breakout, which is unsurprising, it's just time will tell if he's a Pecharromán flash-in-the-pan or if he's a Murilo Fischer carve-out-a-good-niche-in-the-World-Tour-without-reaching-those-heights-again.

He won't ride the Vuelta. Here is an interview with him where he explains that he has struggled greatly to adapt to Sky's training methods: http://www.ciclismointernacional.com/?p=4162

He also mentions that he's had some tests done to see if there's anything wrong with him. Well we all know how that story ends...On the top step in Paris! (just kidding mods).

He didn't even mention doing the tour of Britain, which is disappointing. Hopefully from now on they will adapt his training program to suit his style.
I don't think he is a great domestique, so like he said, holding power output for long periods doesn't suit him so shouldnt be forced on him. Puncheurs like him should conserve energy in the peleton and then use a short punch of power to come through at the end. This inability to tailor their coaching approach to puncheurs probably also explains why EBH hasn't reached his potential.
