i was just checking this, interesting fact...
the double tour mediterraneen-tour du haut-var in the same year is not a walk in the park.just a monster of the classics did it,davide rebellin in 1999.
how many records will jon locke equal and then destroy?there is no limit.

I was thinking, if CW are considering applying for a CT licence that would allow them invitations to a wt race or 2, (though they cant cos they have too many old guys), now that Endura have The Locke, cant they apply for a CT license?

jon locke for tour de france overall win?

Ultimately though Jon would love to ride the Grand Tours. Asked whether the big mountains in such races are the sort of climbs he’d like to have a go at, Jon replied “definitely. I used to race with guys as an amateur in France like the guy who was second in Haut Var who has been top 20 in the Tour de France. I used to always beat him as an amateur.”

nice story about the people's champion campaign in france...looks like "mercia" is the next target.
jon locke-valverde.
this is gonna be huge, forget montepaschi and paris-nice.

''The Tour de Haut Var was my favorite pro race. The day before the 2005 edition, I was out riding around the circuit with my Italian team mates and we were stopped by the police so the amateur version could go by. As we stood about chatting and waiting, but not really paying much attention, the race shot past and out of the breakaway some kid shouted ‘Southam!’ and waved. It was Jonathan Tiernan-Locke. I found out that night that ‘JT’ had won, and now, seven years later, he has won the real thing too. ''

JTL the future world champion....

''That would be fantastic," he tells Country Cycling Magazine. "The World Championship course suits me better than the route of the Olympic Games in London. My manager has just spoken with the coach. That keeps me in the eye. But it is not until september. So it's far from certain. "
I wonder if a continental rider has ever become world champion before...

Not much from him since February... Seems clear he will be with Sky 2013, but I also hope we´ll see him at the Worlds in Valkenburg.

Route du Sud, from June 14, will be a race for him, he could do very well there.

The injury could be a blessing in disguise, keep him fresh for the worlds. For everyone else it will be the end of a long hard season, will make him an even stronger favourite.

Endura are riding the Volta a Portugall - could be very interesting if he can get a month on the bike in a row.

This could be really good. I reckon that Guarda and Gouveia are both finishes that would suit him (possibly Monte Assunção as well), I expect at least 2 of those to be on the route given what we've already been told about the Volta. Gouveia might be too much of a sprint for him, but Guarda is just right.

The other thing is, his best performances so far have been in the cold of early season, so it will be interesting to see how he deals with 40º heat in August in Portugal.

He's from Plymouth, which is basically tropical if you're in the UK.
