It's a shame Groupama FDJ did not win the team classification. It would have been nice to see them bring their kids on the podium

Please do not throw shade on Thibaut Pinot's beloved goats. That's just wrong.

I guess I don’t understand why some people feel this is some kind of somber, solemn affair, like the crowning of a royal at Westminster Abbey. If the winner wants to bring kid, or granny, why not. It harms no one.
Fine, someone will bring their dog, cow, extended family and couple of neighbours. Why not, eh?

The thing is, it's avkward and doesn't belong there. You can't even hold your damn trophy and pose for couple photos without dealing with a kid or running after him.

Take your trophy, pose for photos and when the official couple minutes are over, bring together all your family and kids from all the girlfriends, current and past and have a photo field day.

If complaining on kids on podium cannot we complain about the talks on the podium instead? So awkward!

I'm waiting to see what happens when an Israel Premier Tech rider wins a race. Will they bring their now-adult children onto the podium or their grandkids?
They would already be occupied with both their arms, one for the trophy, one for their walking stick. Can't hold a grandkid as well.

I don't really give a rip either way, but I do feel like someone did it once, and now everyone feels like they need to do it too.

I have no issues. If I'd just spent 3 weeks away from my small child achieving one of my greatest (if not greatest) sporting achievements I'd probably want them close to me while it sinks in as well.
