It's still going, thanks. Currently finishing a novella called 'Merckx' (not cycling related as such). Soon be time for another round of sending out submissions and waiting on the rejection letters. Such a positive attitude! :D

Keep at it; pretty soon you publish one, then six and then they come to you contract in hand.

I guess they were right...

At the age of 16, his parents take him aside one afternoon and issue a warning: “If you continue competitive cycling, your soul will burn for eternity.”

I particularly like this one: "President George Bush has called to extend his congratulations. His former boss, Lance Armstrong, has also been basking in the reflected glory. “I’m glad that a guy who came through our programme has won,” Armstrong tells the Associated Press on Sunday. “We can take a small bit of credit for helping to develop Floyd.

Guys, there are several people who have a signature posting style here, and the Hog has a habit of complimenting his own, from time to time.

No sockpuppet, just an acquired taste. Or not.

When you come across it, just move on please with on topic responses only.

Kimmage may have at times felt that he practised in the art of one hand clapping (which the Hog now has down to a fine art) but that has now gone beyond a slow clap. It seems everyone is rushing to print (old stories & new, it does not matter) so as not to be left out as the crescendo draws near.

And "Lance getting cancer from doping" will not end well.
Who is Kimmage using as a source? MMA Wrestler? Floyd?

Dr. Ferrari? I understand from the SI article that the Landis quote on this has been confirmed by other former teammates.

After Armstrong's cancer diagnosis, former teammates say, even Ferrari questioned his methods. "I remember when we were on a training ride in 2002, Lance told me that Ferrari had been paranoid that he had helped cause the cancer and became more conservative after that," says Landis.

Have to smile at this passege : When asked the question again, he grew irritable: “Look, as you keep asking, I’ll say that it was an unfortunate situation and none of us got any satisfaction out of the fact that they weren’t here. Got any questions about anything else?” Contrast his response with the reaction of England’s Bradley Wiggins, who said: “Get the *******s out.” :D:D:rolleyes:

And it's really great that Lance gets credit where credit is due: "His former boss, Lance Armstrong, has also been basking in the reflected glory. “I’m glad that a guy who came through our programme has won,” Armstrong tells the Associated Press on Sunday. “We can take a small bit of credit for helping to develop Floyd.

I'll say...

Jonathan Vaughters, a former American professional, is one of many to offer support. “I believe Floyd is innocent,” he says. “The majority of T/E (testosterone/epitestosterone) tests are overturned at CAS (Sports Tribunal) level. The guy will probably be proven innocent in eight months’ time, but in the short term the media is killing him. Floyd is basically paying for the sins of all the morons who came before him who have denied, denied, denied. He’s going to take the fall for everyone who has cried wolf before him.”

JV knew Floyd was dirty, there can be zero doubt about that.

Now, why should I believe anything this guy says about his "clean" team.

In one aspect JV was right . . . Floyd was one of the lambs that the sport/UCI offers up for slaughter every so often, just like AC . . . all to deflect the focus from LA and to keep the magic number 7 intact. After all, what other rider stood a chance of breaking that record? I have always thought that the busting of AC looked very suspicious, and given the obvious dis-like that LA has for AC . . . well, you connect the dots.

+1. Vaughters has shown himself to be just like all the others who want doping hushed up. What happened to the JV who refused to take anything for a bee-sting? Or the JV who started a small youth team so that kids could race without pressure? :(

It's a wonder there's not more talk of that.
