Don't know where you get the notion that Rabo is trying to cover stuff up. The team is just as eager to find out about dopers as any of us is. As soon as the doping turns out to have been systematically organized from within the team itself, Team Rabobank is over and done for.

I think they didn't know much more about Dekker and Boogerd than we did... both suspicious, both dishonest, they didn't trust them so the ties were cut. What's wrong with that on Rabo's part? If Dekker and Boogerd are prepared to lie even to their family and friends, there's not much else you can do.
The problem with Rabo pre-2008 was lack of communication. Result: the team knew too little, rather than too much.

Criminal case of Kohl and Rasmussen closed without charges

Kohl, who won the mountain jersey in the 2008 Tour de France, was stripped of the title when he tested positive for EPO-CERA during the Tour. After making a full confession, he was given a two-year ban which expires the beginning of next month.
