Fire Department's Arson Van Set On Fire
DENVER -- The Denver Fire Department's arson van was set on fire Wednesday morning while an arson investigator was looking into who had set fire to two other cars.
Firefighters were called to 3953 West Kentucky, near South Osceola Street, around 12:30 a.m. a.m. on the report of several suspicious car fires.
When firefighters arrived there were two cars on fire in the alley, Denver Fire spokesman Phil Champagne said.
Once those fires were put out, an arson investigator was called in, and while he was at a home interviewing witnesses, someone ran into the home and told him his van was on fire, Champagne said.
"He ran out and the engine block was on fire," Champagne said.
The investigator had to call the fire department to extinguish the flames.
