There is a little group with Philipsen coming back I think. Also Lampaert in there. But let's be honest they won't bring them back.

So everyone in G2 made it over Kluisberg, Total didn't manage to drop any sprinters (Sagan nearly dropped instead).

They almost dropped De Lie and Jakobsen. and dropped a Lotto domestic. Was a pretty stupid move.

It's been a while since I've seen De Lie having a bad day like this. Hard day and all the attention yesterday probably didnt do him good.

No, it was their best winning path. Drop the fastest sprinters and hope other teams would help them pull away.

His knee might also not be at 100% after yesterday's crash.

Really strange how many good classic riders who also were ok in omloop missed out on the second group. van Avermaet, Naesen, Politt, Schelling, Lampart, Jorgensen, Kristoff... without them the second group probably doesn't have enough.

With one or two more strong teams I think that would work. Alpecin especially really having a rough start to the season. They need MvdP back to get some results.

The knock on his knee may not have helped, either.

Absolutely, basically wat I mean with "hard" day. It was probably worse than he thought it was. It's never good to crash, always asks some energy from your body.

Lotto is not helping him either by basically dropping him and some teammates lol. De Lie looks completely done for.

All behind the crash... It was like a 35 man peloton before Jumbo attacked. It would've been a completely different story without that crash.

Well, he is still there. And now it's just a long, flat run-in. If by some miracle the break will be caught, he can still dream of a second place behind Sagan

I don't think the break is going to get caught. Group 2 doesn't have enough man power.

Hmm, I would have thought that the wind would be strong enough here to cause trouble.
