The peloton did the first 600m really slow and when then Roglic and Ala did an absolutely insane final 400m.

Not too shabby pacing. I would say. Especially if i didn't have to be involved in it.

I enjoyed that again, despite all my CQ team failing miserably or just being ill.

The way Valverde sat up when it looked for all the world like he was going to win was bizarre. It was almost like "I've got the T shirt here mate, you have this win on me".
