humorous. but i was more wondering along the lines of changes in 'medicinal' needs/opportunities. Less needed, safer or more effective options??

I thought it was to give you some new photos to dribble over.

Perhaps. Why comeback?

.....Cancer Awareness...

Did you not see the press conference? The one where he had Don Catlin beside him and they mentioned how often Don was going to test him and how they would show "complete transparency" by releasing his dope tests online?

That is why he took his global message to countries like Australia, USA, Spain, Italy, France....
The sad part is they must not have learned anything as he has to go back to all these countries again next year.

Well, 04 and 05 were pretty easy for him, so i'd say the desire was gone plus he was 33 yrs old - prime retirement age.. and not many athletes of can stay at the top of their sport for more than 7-8 years.

As for coming back, well look who won 2008 TDF... I think he knew he could compete

Oh and maybe the whole cancer awareness thing, but I know the LA haters (and i'm not one of them) don't believe that for a second.

I felt it was the necessity of all the training for so many years - he just wanted to relax and do something else- especially having so many toys and kids to play with. The comeback I felt because he missed the level of fitness he had that was required to compete.

I think it was a great way to get people on to livestrong.com

TFF had a little brain snap, got alittletoo personal, something about someone being a chicken plucker. It was pretty funny. I quoted a little of it but my post has been deleted as well.

Dont blame him for having a go, some PERSON around here can get a little frustrating. Hope he's back soon.

what why ban TFF that's just wrong, so who was he calling a "chicken plucker"

Did he? That's funny given he wanted it for me.LOL. Although I hope it's just temporary cool down for a day or 2, I'd hate it to be permanent :(

That is what it was, and that was cool of you to say.

Good to have you back TFF, so what did you get a cool down for.

I wrote a response to someone who insulted my chastity that was a bit...well, it was pretty harsh. To my credit, I posted it, with the exception of 10 or so letters, in white font so that it was not visible unless it was quoted...and well, I guess an admin saw through my disguise. I thought it was pretty clever...they didn't.

Welcome back. Did you have to wear a dunce cap and sit in the corner?

I hate it when that happens.

That's all! I might have to sound off a little :D

Glad to see no perm damage to the forum community.

Nah, they warned me before about my language. The post in question was VERY colorful...well, except that the color of the font was white for the most part. I really was surprised I got busted so quickly. It was less than an hour later that I got booted. I figured it would hold up for longer...oh well, caught up on some of that scrapbooking I had been meaning to do...

I read it ... I had to highlight it to read the blank (white) font. It was a bit of a jaw dropper, but I chuckled nonetheless! :D

Watching some tv with the wife when this show comes on about a woman who survives cancer and then dies when a baseball hits her in the head. Anyway so my wife says this " survives cancer then dies when a ball hits her in the face, well I guess Lance Armstrong is the prime suspect" that kind of humor is one of the reasons we're married

CBF starting a new thread, just wondering how good do people think how good a CLEAN Lance Armstrong would be? Would he still be a good cyclist or just a talentless hack like the rest of us?

Good but not great one day racer. Would have won a small handful of classics like Amstel Gold and another handful of GT stage wins. Never would have placed in the top ten of the TdF.

I understand that Armstrong started to work with Ferrari in 1994, so one can assume that in his first 18 months as a pro (since he turned professional after the Barcelona Olympics and came dead last at San Sebastian), were clean? Mind you after coming dead last, he won a stage at the (now defunct) Tour of Galica and came second at the Zurich one day race. And then in his first full year he won a stage at the Tour and the Worlds. So maybe I don't know what to think.

He was known inside the peloton, by riders, as "cortisone neck".

So....yeah.
