so; how do you know that his daughter was there for "hours" waiting? would she not have been rushed into the finish just before he did finish, as she would have been (AND WAS) watching from the run course sidelines. so where are you facts apart from a 2 second clip off youtube?

WOW - You really are truly desperate to make sure nobody could say anything negative about him aren't you...

Note: I say the following as the parent of 2 daughters and the uncle of several more.

Any parent will tell you that how long she was waiting there is a totally irrelevant detail. To a child, 10 seconds is enough to be a big deal sometimes. If his daughter arrived 30seconds earlier by helicopter, she would STILL be hurt to be snubbed that badly when she went to the effort to do somethihng special and get ready to present his medal. The odds are that this was something she and her mother planned the day before and she spent the preceeding night excited about.

You keep labelling the other people in this thread as the equivalent of losers for wasting their time discussing Lance here. Fine, I'm a loser for noticing that he is a terrible parent.

What exactly does that make you?

im not wonderboy, and im not pro-lance, nor am i obsessed with following his every action in his day-day life analysing, critiquing, and general rubbish comments designed to give yourself and a few here a laugh.
no one really cares, and its you few dillusional people here who seem to think the entire world agrees with your theories and assumptions.

So exactly why, then, are you here in yet another thread about Armstrong, debating with the same "dillusional (sic) people"?

Not entirely sure whether you are including me in that for my comment but the fact is that his daughter has probably been standing there at the finishline for hours to cheer him on and be there to support him and he just ignored her.

Nothing to do with anything else that Lance may or may not have done in his career - not interested in discussing any of that - just looking at this one event in isolation: Its the action of a self-absorbed scumbag. He clearly won't remember or care about it in the future - but she will.

Have to say that video brought back memories of my own childhood as I watched my Dad do marathons. Don't think he ever noticed our presence either, well not until sometime afterwards. I also realise now how bloody annoying I must have been as he crossed the finish line totally f***ed and then had me an my sister clamouring for his attention when all he wanted to do was lie down somewhere. Still I get to do much the same now if I return from a hard training session and my kids want to play with me straight away.

Never really thought of my father as a self obsessed scumbag though. I was always rather proud that he'd done it.

Depends on the circumstances doesnt it. If you are in the crowd mid event then of course you may not even be noticed, let alone singled out. However, after the finish line (and particularly given his ability to be hand slapping with people before the line) to have your own child come to you and just walk past like they are irrelevant - are you sure thats what your dad did to you?

I have done many challenging events over the years including 100km day hikes, 200km+ bike races, kayaking, ocean swimming, etc and the first thing I have always looked forward to at the end is a hug from my family - before I falll over if possible. I grant you "scumbag" is probably a bit harsh and coloured by the fact there is no way I would do that to my kids, but my comments in general stand.

It is a race after all, and I would imagine each place counts. I have sprinted to the finish in races much less competitive than that when nothing was at stake but a bit of pride.

With a $75,000 total purse and points, why would you not sprint?

Yeah, I understand, I don't blame the guy. I still find it funny though, with Armstrong doing his high-fiving and everything.

lol at the guy sprinting to beat him to the finish line.

Have to say - I definitely would have sprinted to the line in the circumstances - mind you, I would have sprinted if there was nobody to pass anyway. Finish line fever is a big deal with me.

(actually, I have always found it a bit strange all that slowing down and saluting etc at the end of ironman's and marathons - these are the same athletes that will list that as their best time and then try to beat it next time. If they didn't do the pre-line celebration they would get a better time)

You hit it right on the head Martin! I think I posted the same sentiment over in the Lance Case Dropped ...blah blah thread. His poor daughter must have been so excited and planned this for him at the finish and waited for hours.
Inexcusable and immature behavior for any parent.

You guys are so damn sensetive. He clearly didnt see or hear his daughter. And even if he did, he just finished a half ironman. wtf ?

All I can say is he had enough awareness to wave to the crowd. He knew his kids were there, hell their voices were loud and clear on the video, he just chose to ignore them.

I've finished marathons, 100km mountain bike races, and other races totally wasted and was always able to acknowledge my wife, son and friends. He's a d**k.

Its p!ss funny. His daughter aside he was too busy doing high fives and waving to the crowd to notice he was being passed! That’s the sort of behavior he would have shat all over if someone else did it in his team or a competitor. I just find he funny now. He’s become a joke. I look forward to his next routine and how he’s going to show the world what a super athlete he is.

Just wait. The petty vindictiveness of Wonderboy and his paid friends is about to go to the next level.

No, but anyone who was on the fence about if he was a twisted, vindictive, fork will no longer have any doubts

was that the latest in hulk shirts he was wearing? I thought the first retiirement was to spend time with the kids and just watch them grow up. Do what you want, most people don't give a ****, but don't f'in lie about it and pull the martyr card.

If Fraudstrong couldn't lie he wouldn't have anything to say.

Over and over he's pulled the family card. The guy has about the same family cred as Newt Gingrich.

Don't tell me he's not letting Phil on the jet anymore? That would be cruel.

Phil, Paul, and Bobke have found alternative fanboy transportation.

The comments are absolutely scathing, like really heavy!! I've read every one and

I nearly felt sorry for Arsethong for a moment.

Welcome to Britain where we actually tell it like It is. I don’t think the intern tentacles reach as far as the UK. The Daily Mail is infamous in the UK. It’s not a tabloid but generally read of by Old English types who love the pound and the Queen. Most of its readers will stop you to tell you what’s wrong with the world.

Judging by the comments and not that I think he cares much but the tide has really turned on him. No one believes anything he has to say. His actions tend to speak louder than his words as exemplified by the triathlon. For those saying he was too tired is ********. He had enough energy to be high fiving the crowd but suddenly was “tired and in the zone” when he got smoked on the finish line!
