Wow.

Twitter just went from bore to score... Or something. I think I need Fabiani's help. But it looks like he has his hands full with a certain 40 something Texan with an iPhone.

OK. I just dug in to see what the hubbub is all about. I've managed to come away feeling a little dumberer.

You're getting more stupid with each passing day, but it's got nothing to do with any outside influences.

Something like that. It's about the level of discourse on this subject, wouldn't you say? Your man Armstrong is setting the tone for the discussion.

Hatfields and McCoys

The comments from both of LeMond's adult "kids" are creepy.

Plenty of over reaction and weird sexual innuendo.

Are any of the "guys" here on the forum really Simone or Scott?
They would seem to fit right in hater wise.

I am not sure this is really a topic - but it sort of fits in a with a bunch of other threads that aren't really about anything. As long as it remains respectful of folk (kids whether adult or not) we'll just let it run its course.

Can we keep it respectful?

Yes - as long as we do not quote any of the LeMond "kids" comments...

Those "kids" could teach the adults a thing or two.

Remember this all started with Watsons comment:
10/11/2010:
Hi Eric, I've not noticed that mistake, I'll have my webmaster look at it. Sorry we cannot appease you, I'm a fan of both guys, they both did a lot for my career, just a shame one cannot keep his mouth shut.. GW

Which Simone responded to very diplomatically with:
@grahamwatson10 I remember meeting you as a child, I think you know who my father is, and what he stands for. 25 Oct.

Then Darach McQuaid jumps in with:
Lots of bloggers/w*****s commenting on @grahamwatson10 view on Lemond. After 32yrs on a moto, methinks his opinion is worthy. 26 Oct.

Then to cap it all off we have LA following Simone - and instead of being smart and 'unfollowing' sends her a Tweet (the Fabricator will have a heart attack) to confirm his stupidity.

Lance should have followed Watsons advice - "...they both did a lot for my career, just a shame one cannot keep his mouth shut.."

Pathetic, more like. I'm actually embarrassed for Watson and Armstrong.
Agreed. Reacting to a tweet from someone half his age... how could he hope to come out of this looking anything but immature? The Master of Disaster needs to text him some dos and don'ts of public communication.

Upstart college kid - 1, veteran of countless public spats - 0.

Plus, I'm a little embarrassed that I visited the twitter site to read this nonsense. I too am a little dumber for having done that.

Any chance Cycling News will make an article out of this one?
Ha. Good point.

Was I being childish? Yes, but Lance doesn't deserve any of my respect.

Young man, we still have to respect those who are incarcerated or soon will be.;)

I have no idea, as I am sure 99.9% of you either, of what goes on behind the scenes, the kind of deals are made, bribery, cheating, doping, etc, but just reading some of Armstrong comments (not from twitter) and listening to him talk in interviews (at the Tour or any other race or just a press conference or anything, really) he is such an arrogant, selfish jerk! To think that I bought those yellow bands back in the day to my friends and family for a good cause and to think the man (supposedly) behind all of it was a cheat and a liar and that it could all be a sham is disguisting and it speaks volumes of sports and you could say, our society today! Good on the Lemonds for standing up to him and not being hypocrites like so many current or past pro cyclists (european or american). Graham Watson is a tool, btw, or so it seems, lol!
If I went slightly off topic, sorry!

This made my day! Tex is starting to show his frustration.

I wonder if Lance's kids would stand up for him like this? I get the impression that there is real, honest passion behind the statements of the Lemonds.

Help a guy out. Your sister is posting around on Watson's tweet thingie, which catches the eye of Armstrong (not unusual), so Armstrong 'follows' your sister's tweet thingie as a result?

To the casual viewer (me), it sounds like Armstrong just showed up at her backtweetdoor.

He did not need to 'follow' her to see what she had tweeted.

I am blocked by LA from following him on twitter on my DrMaserati thingy - I can still read all his tweets through other means.

LA showed his stupidity by 'following' her, but made a even bigger mistake by tweeting her.

No ill intent meant. But didn't she start posting or tweeting or doing whatever regarding this 'fool'gate and Graham Watson?

I don't know what protocol is, as twitter has passed me by. I guess you are saying that celebrities should be above the minions on twitter (or elsewhere), and not post or reply?

Why couldn't they have done this **** on a forum that I can understand?

Hi Scott,

I don't blame you!! Wow, the following and the tweeting...how weird was that? Who's childish?

You and Simone's feelings toward Lance are totally justified given what's transpired and what your family's gone through.

You guys rock for sticking up for your dad. I would have done the same if GW had called my dad a fool. :)

No - she did not start this - Watson did by putting the 'fool' label on the URL and moreso with his comment after.

She sent 2 tweets - which Watson would have received:
@grahamwatson10 I remember meeting you as a child, I think you know who my father is, and what he stands for. 25 Oct.

@grahamwatson10 my dad is fighting the good fight. I hope you think of our family, and that you feel ashamed of your comments. 25 Oct.
After what was said about her Father, she was entitled to respond - but moreso handled herself with more maturity than the rest.

On celebrities - twitter is a tool for them, to help promote themselves and shape public opinion. So he was stupid to follow her and then publicly acknowledge it.

No doubt, Lance thinks with his missing nut when it comes to his offense. That is indisputable.

How old is this girl? At least 18, right?
