The Hog - this makes Vino laugh.

So far, this is my favourite part of this news. Great timing after Armstrong's tweet about Bruyneel/Vino. If I were a journo I'd have my recorder in Vino's face at the start line tomorrow.

So, what happens at the ToC??

Maybe the fan will replace his 4 foot syringe with a blood bag and go for a quick jog.

*** note: GREAT timing for Canc and anyone else suspected to have ridden the moto-bikes. That story will get buried pretty quickly.

This has a good chance to blow up far bigger than Puerto et al. Systematic doping accepted by Bruyneel @ USPS and Rihs @ Phonak. Good for Floyd. No matter how bad this gets for him I hope there is some measure of satisfaction and relief. I have far more respect for him today than I did yesterday. He will face all kinds of attacks on his credibility, most of them earned by his prior deception. But he'll still get his days in print and on TV.

Betsy and Greg are probably having a good chuckle right about now.

They're not the only ones laughing.

Any truth in that? Floyd was the man who got Phonak started on systematic doping?

Phonak was neck deep in doping before Floyd came along. Sounds like Floyd just got Andy Rhis to pay for it specifically. Maybe a fringe benefit for signing with the team.

Suddenly, it won't be so boring anymore.

What will the diamond miner have to say?

"Look at Michael Rogers driving at the front of the race, you know another great cyclist who has done this on many occasions? A certain 7 times Tour de France winner by the name of Lance Armstrong. Being hard workers at the front of the race is not the only thing these two men have in common, both excelled under the expertise of a certain coach by the name of Michele Ferrari."

I hope the stragglers and believers finally can now wake the **** up. Sadly, prepare yourselves for those who still believe.

Some guy next to me at the Tour on the Highway 84 climb actually said to me yesterday, "I think it's possible that Armstrong may have doped back in those days ('99)".

Wonder what he'll be thinking tomorrow.

There is an interesting clue in the article. FLandis says that he extracted 2.5 liters of blood for the Tour. Kohl's plan was to use 2.0 liters. Maybe Postal was transfusing more blood than other teams.

2.5 liters seems like a lot of blood to use in three weeks. Maybe they were doing what some have theorized: Transfusions in the morning before critical stages and bleeding the excess blood after the stage.

Good on you Floyd!!!!

Ha ha ha ha! I knew Floyd was about to crack!

Can't wait to see Lord Douchestrong King of Dopers tries to bluster his way out of this one.

No question he is now Lance Armstrong*

Isn't ~500ml a transfusion the standard? Could they have been taking 4-5 transfusions a tour?

He's "never tested positive". :)

hahahahahahahahahahahah. Douche.

He'll find a way to deflect this enough to keep 50% of the true believers on his side. At least he'll go away now.

One of the amusing parts with all this - that has almost been overlooked -Flandis has finally admitted doping!!

Yet the revelations about everyone else he will get to some credibility back - revenge is sweet.

The important thing is that this was a leak. It insulates Floyd from legal action and he can gauge whether he'll be able to write a book without getting sued. Also since it's gone public it will probably force the powers that be to take action much more quickly and surely than they would have. USADA head Travis Tygart is not going to get a lot of sleep tonight.

I wonder if FLandis and Zabriskie had a falling out. Those two were tight.

I still think that the best way to frame the revelations is not, "I and my teammates doped," but "The Postal Service paid to dope me and my teammates."

Nah Bro this is how he should spin it:

"The US taxpayers funded a US Postal Service sponsored team doping program for all USPS riders."

That is the clear next step for the delusional. Skip admitting how wrong and foolish you were, and move right into forgiveness. He is your Jesus.

"I don't disagree that he doped in the late 90s or early 00s, but I'm sure he was clean since 03, there was no way he has doped since his comeback"

it's going to get better. There's more to it. Payoffs to cover up for doping positives in the '02 tour, bribing labs etc.

Flandis really has nothing to lose at this point. You can sue a guy without any money, but what's that gonna bring you? I have a feeling a couple of other guys will flip to save their own skin and then it's all going to come down.
