I cant help but wonder why cycling news is still printing anything that lying scumbag Landis has to offer. He has admitted to lying, was convicted of hacking the afld lab computers and was caught tampering with a witness in the usada case against him when he treatened lemond with disclosure of child abuse history. That si a federal felkony offnese...funny thta usada didnt say anything aobut it...ah the deals people make...fiurther proof of his shining character..He was so remorseful about his doping that he came clean by choosing to offer "further proof" only when armstrong was about to start the tour of california and then again at the tour de france..just coincidence folks...why is this ****** still given any credence or any news coverage? It is sickening...

Why would USADA (US Anti-Doping Agency, in case you didn't know) have anything to say about computer hacking or a federal felony offense? Being a liar doesn't mean everything you say is a lie, and in the case of Landis his allegations are consistent with what other people (including witnesses) have said. That's what gives his statements credibility. Where what he said isn't supported by other data it remains dubious, but believe me, that's not the case with the core of his allegations about Armstrong.

Let's accept for a minute that Landis spoke as part of a personal vendetta against Armstrong, that he's full of spite and chose the timing to damage Armstrong as much as possible and that he's a terrible person. So? He's still telling mostly the truth. That's the news, not Landis himself.

Do you get this angry when Cyclingnews prints lies from Lance?

Yes! Floyd is EXACTLY the kind of guy that Lance Armstrong would choose to be his willing helper! Birds of a feather!

Nothing like each other.

Floyd has stated he will pay back the FFF. And his fully admitted to his doping.

Lance hasn't said he'd pay back his victims or admitted to doping. He embezzled over million dollars out of SCA and intimidated witnesses.

When Lance pays back his victims he'll be sweet with me.

I'm already cool with Floyd. He's doing the right thing.

Floyd has said a lot of things that are not true.
Lance has said a lot of things that are not true.

Lance defrauded the USA.
Floyd defrauded his fans.

Floyd cheated to win the TdF.
Lance cheated to win the TdF.

Lance is a bad guy.
Floyd is a pretty ineffectual bad guy.

When IS Floyd going to start paying back his victims? On Tuesday, the 5th of NEVER?

If you choose your facts right, you can play this game with anyone and come out with the conclusion you want to see.

Hitler was a leader of a country.
Nelson Mandela was a leader of a country.

Hitler lead a popular movement designed to revolutionise governance in his country.
Nelson Mandela lead a popular movement designed to revolutionise governance in his country.

Hitler spent time in jail for his beliefs.
Nelson Mandela spent time in jail for his beliefs.

Hitler believed that his political goals justified using violent means where necessary.
Nelson Mandela believed that his political goals justified using violent means where necessary.

Without context, it's just hot air.

The inevitable Hitler reference!!

But Nelson Mandela never helped Hitler, while Floyd knowingly helped Lance!

I'd give Floyd a full Mussolini on this one!!

I'm just obeying the law. Godwin's law.

Floyd did help Lance, and I see the point you make about their actions being similar. For me, the key difference is that Floyd has paid (not monetarily, yet) for what he did and come clean. He lost his career, his wife, his house and a lot more. Eventually, as well, he came clean, admitted to what he did and apologised to those he had wronged, like LeMond. That is the context I'm referring to.

Lance has two legs, Floyd has two legs.

Do some character reading instead. you don't have to be a bright bulb to see that Floyd's and Lance's characters differ in all possible ways.

I'm certainly not arguing that Floyd is equivalent to Lance. Lance was way worse than Floyd.

However, Floyd helped Lance cheat knowing EXACTLY how bad Lance was. That doesn't say very much for Floyd.

Floyd walked into the confessional and confessed his sins-- at right about the same time he filed his lawsuit based upon that exact same confession. Floyd's confession doesn't score him ANY bonus points. I'm glad that Floyd finally came clean (at least in part), but I'm not going to canonize him for it.

Floyd has told the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth.

Lance has not. He still can't admit. Still lying.

I'll be sweet with Lance once he tells his fans what he really did an how much doping went on. He owes us that much. Then I'll be cool with Lance. He'll be on the right path then. *

At the moment he's just showing off his abs telling us he doesn't care anymore.

His fans care. They want the truth.

Floyd stands much taller than Lance.

Lance could learn a thing or two from Floyd.

I agree with you about Lance. :D

Now, please explain why Floyd is so good because Lance is so bad!

MarkvW said:
I totally agree with that! But it doesn't excuse one bit of Floyd's behavior.

I wasn't excusing Floyd's behavior. However, on the balance of things, Floyd's is child's play before the Texan; which, in light of his actions, allows us to perceive how colossal are the other's misdeeds.

I'd agree with that too. Lance and his Posties distorted the TdF just like the smear tool can distort a perfectly wonderful image in Photoshop. :D Floyd's just a small time crook! Lance is Mr. Big!

Lance is too spineless to come clean.
Floyd has bared it all.

Floyd is 100 men more than Lance. Lance is still lying. I really wish he'd admit and be honest to his fans. Especially the ones that haven given money to him and his products. They deserve to know the truth and the extent of the doping and lies told. Its the right thing to do.

Floyd is miles above Lance. Good and Bad are a Western mindset. Real life is not dualistic as you're trying to pitch. You want both of them to be bad. But they are not.

Floyd is neither good or bad.

Lance is just downright bad to the core. Doesn't know how to be good. Doesn't even know what it is. Can't do it. Its all about personal gain.

Floyd is on a journey to make things right. He's learning. He's being human and his gained very little from his honesty but he knows its the right path.

Lance is still lying and telling a version of events which suits him financially. Sad. So bad. Pure badness. The guy should set himself free and just be honest to himself. He should at least be honest and help his friend Johan who is in a lot of trouble now. Do you think he can help a friend? Time will tell.

Has to make you wonder. Was it all worth it?

I think history will judge Floyd well. Armstrong will just become irrelevant and forgotten.
