Yes, theoretically Euskaltel can win stage races. However, they never do...

I was on about the Greenedge/GT & Euskaltel/cobbles comparison.

Still leaves 70 % of the races available if you take out high mountains stages. Hilly days and breakaway days in rolling hills Greenedge will be ok.

If you need points the going for Sprinters and Classic riders - Hilly and flat, if a better way of gaining points than having a team full of Climbing riders.

Boring but it is the way it is Blame the UCI

I want Europcar to get a spot, but AG2R, FDJ and EE will. Though i think Europcar dominated the French circuit more than the other two French teams and are probably higher thought of as of now.

i would laugh so hard if greenedge didn't get an world tour spot. . . ofc that won't happen but it would be hilarious, besides its not like we would be missing much other then another boring oh look and me and badass sprinters team

Great to see AG2R got it and FDJ is back in! Too bad Europcar missed out, they had a great season but I'm sure they will get a lot of wild card invitations with their strong performances

A world tour team build around sprinting, but lacking one of the top sprinters.

Great idea...

Before the inevitable nonsense about Goss, he won MSR against Gilbert & Cancellara. A very good ride, but no real evidence of sprinting capability.

I'd back Cav, Farrar, Greipel, Pettachi, Boasson Hagen, Guardini, Kittel to beat him more often than lose.

Re: GreenEdge: I wonder if the UCI have a case of cold feet about issuing a another WT/PT license to a team with financial guarantees coming from a private, individual source?

Of course not. As long as there's something in there for them.

because of this stupid buy your points/riders way into the world tour system

and since sprinters get way too much points(much more then what they deserve) getting sprinters is the easiest way to do it. at least sky had some depth in their squad from year 1 and the shack had a couple of GC guys( old and boring yes but at least they would show their face in the 1 week races and GT's when the gradient was above 1%)

greenedge aren't in the 15 list right?? I don't see why they would get a wildcard. french teams for sure get a preference, because of aso

GreenEdge and RadioShack are still being reviewed by the UCI for some reason.

I'm pretty sure greenedge was in the top 15 list.

Now that Euskaltel secured their WT spot, shouldn't they be recruiting. I think they have around 23 riders and is it 25 the minimum number of riders for WT teams?
