Why? Sky will have to burn some serious manpower the entire day if this keeps on. That's a W for everyone.

Yes. Sky will have to climb a mountain today, more in fact.

Zakarin and Kruijswijk in the front yes, but isn't it a waste of energy for Kruijswijk to sit out there in the front group? Can someone explain the tactical aspect, I'm missing?

Huge group, how is he burning energy? It's like mini peleton

Doesn't really matter if you sit in a break of 30 or a reduced peloton of 50.

They would ride on at the front no matter what...
It's the pace they have to ride with. Normally, we'd see Rowe on the front for the first 120ks. Now Poels and Moscon might be gone before we've even reached the Alpe.

Rowe is gonna make it back in the downhill, considering pace is not hard enough to drop Sagan from peloton...nothing will happen untill alpe as usual

Drive it, drill it oh dear break. I don't care who it is as long as Sky loses the jersey. All in for Kruiswijk.

You would prefer that he remains with the other gc guys and comes in 10th again? I like this. Make sky do the work and hopefully we see a surprising result.

Downhill? He's made it back on the climb.

Krushweak's move is very good for the race but it will most likely end his GC hopes, guess Rogla is the leader after all.

Very nice start. Chapeau Valverde, great that Kruisjwijk is going in the break as well as thats a bit more serious.

Plus Lotto have Gesink there to work for him. He can make pace for a long time.
