Eurosport UK saying Ineos are backing Bernal for leadership ..must say I am surprised

He si the best on these type of terrain but Brailsford is Welsh

So far, nothing has suggested that they have been backing Thomas over Bernal so it doesn't really surprise me.

Thomas attacking after Bernal yesterday, but that may just be Thomas being Thomas.

Backing Bernal probably means fireworks today

And you believe them? Come on.. They won't make the mistake to rely on Bernal, who lost a lot of energy yesterday. It all depends on the legs of the day. Everybody know this, unlike Eurosport UK

I honestly think that they both ride to win.

I also think that Froome and Thomas did the same last year.

Totally agree with Toby.

They both been doing their own race and just been backed by the team accordingly.

Brailsford wants to win, Bernal is the best bet for that. They will look like idiots if they don't back him and they don't win it and it becomes obvious he would have won if they had backed him and not GT.

Cos the others are so near and Alaphillipe has not cracked that this may not be the wining formula

One has to attack and the other not bring the others up

Who attacks gets the backing ...Bernal

Both riding their own race doesnot work hence team backing is necessary

Also strikes me that if Bernal wins the Tour (as he can today) that the Froome era wi be done

That all depends on whether Froome can recover from his bust leg, that is the big question. If he somehow does and returns to his previous level, which seems highly unlikely unless his femur fracture wasn't as bad as thought. Sorting the other stuff out will be easy compared to that.

Nice guy
imho he was just greeted by his family
not saying he wouldn't do it for the random freezing kiddo but seems unlikely that a random kid would have access over there.

Why is this important?

It was just a nice gesture, dont have to read into everything
you're right.

Froome has looked much more convincing in his Tour victories than Bernal. If he gets back in form (i don't believe it), he would obviously still be the champ.

Anyway, i hope this is finally the year the curse is broken for the French, and i slightly prefer Alaphilippe over Pinot.
