It's incredible that enthusiasts on a cycling forum were expecting >100km GC attacks on the first mountain stage. "If only Contador were here"

Doubt Poels will take single pull. Kwiat is next after Castro if he ever tires.

I don't think the conversation was about expecting that to happen. The conversation was about what needed to happen.

I guess it's not Sky fault if other teams don't want to win. I mean realistically Sky have G who has over a minute advantage over everyone else, and G is not going to lose a minute in the timetrial. So if any other team has any ambition they have over a minute to gain.

Another year, another borg train.

Remember when smaller teams were going to lead to less Sky domination? Actually it's the opposite.

Sky rode with 8 riders for many Tours in the past so they know how to deal with that.

And aside, this is arguably their best team ever, literally all world class riders.

Expecting? On the contrary, I expected (as I wrote in the first pages of the thread) that probably nothing will happen between the favorites. What I need is, yes, 100+ km GC attacks, or at least some testing of the SKY train, because this is boring as hell. But to expect such a scenario...do you take me and like-minded people for being fools?

I think a lot of us are just hoping that someone takes a chance win or lose. I'll take an ill-fated suicide ride over a procession any day...
