Tracker says Cav can't stay with his helpers and is already four and half minutes behind them. I think he will be HD today. Probably DD don't want to have same fate as FDJ had last year, when they lost not only Demare but also Guarnieri, Konovalovas and Delage on one stage.

This is just the best option for Movistar

Valverde unlikely to be chased as hard as Landa or Quintana so does get leeway. If they close him down Quintana or Landa can go themselves and either bridge or counter later but if he stays away to take real time he does have the chops that he can stick around for 3 weeks if he's on a good one.
