Waw. It looks like to do the Giro-Tour double is really probably impossible nowadays.

Indeed !. If Froome can’t do it nobody can. I imagine he has felt the pressure of opinion during this period, can’t help matters.

I guess Froome's probably looking at 4th place now. Although I'm disappointed, It's been an incredible few years as a fan of his and I'm excited to see if he can do it next year.

Thomas proving himself the best climber in the race, this tour is as good as over. Not very entertaining overall and a disappointing stage.

At least Froome will not be wearing yellow this year.

And all the Landa fanboys ( and Majka for years)...you haven't a clue

! Dan Martin matched Quintana on the climb....one of the hardest ever

Great ride by Quintana and Movistar today. Turns out they weren't riding for team classification, and that Valverde wasn't just riding for himself after all.

They just haven't had the legs until now to trouble the big guys.

Cant do more if you dont have legs. They have tried on every stage was that possible to do anything.

yes Dan Martin climbed at the same rate as Quintana & Bernal slower in the end...remember Martin was by himself

He did suffer on Alpe d'Huez so I assumed he'd have trouble on the big climbs, but ofcourse he's also proven in the past that he can do well in the big mountains (although it has often been in Dauphiné). Good ride today, didn't lose so much to Quintana after he was dropped

Dan is my man, but hes still lost 30 seconds on Quintana today on the last climb. With him all the best but I think he should go for the Giro-Vuelta next year. He could win both of them with a good team and some luck. But, in the Tour, he always seem to struggle with bad luck. :/

Exactly, Valverde has repeatedly gone up the road, and Quintana has tried. His attack on Alpe d'Huez showed he just didn't have it, but good to see they have at least salvaged something from the race. Quintana could be a big threat for the Vuelta now I think. His form curve looks a bit 2016-ish. Unless, of course, aonther 70kg alien turns up out of nowhere.
