Kristoff even further back than Sagan at the moment.

Sagan's with Oss & Bodnar and Richeze ... where is Démare?

Démare in the group with Kristoff, he was ahead of Sagan when he lost contact with the bunch.

Race center says Demaire is still in the Peloton. Hard to believe it would be true though. Sagan's right knee seems to be quite a bit swallowed.

Yes that can’t be right, cameras definitly showed Kristoff and Demare in a small group about 10 minutes ago.

Is Sagan heavier than previous years or less prepared for climbing? It's not only about the injuries. Entire race he's struggling on climbs.

lol he was right behind the favourites group of about 20 riders when he crashed wednesday.

you do realise that he was with the favourites group when even climbers were being dropped in the short stage right?

Btw, it's quite cruel to have the camera motorbike with him.

If Sagan finishes the stage over the time limit will they waive the rules and let him continue? I would guess they will

Dumoulin searched all corners of the world, and found a teammate who can make tempo uphill

Yeah... Camera adds some weight.

My guess is ASO will say to Sagan just finish the stage and we will let you stay in the race. No-one would complain. It would be an embarrassment for someone else to win green by default

Can you imagine if Sagan climbs off, Alaphlippe crashes out (heaven forbid) and Thomas bonks and loses yellow to Dumo. All 3 jerseys going in one stage at the end (more or less) of a tour. Ever happened before?

This Tour thrives on riches of embarassment anyway

Time cut is likely to be in the region of 40 minutes (12% of 340 minutes) but, of course, it is entirely dependent on the average speed of the stage.

As much I like Sagan I am strongly against any exemption from rules. I hate it. probably if he was in collision with race motorbike like in Vuelta OK, but this was his own mistake.
Unfortunately.

Like Démare and his totally believable 150 km solo rides

Yes and also in the Alps they added on 2% a couple of times for whatever reason (apparently before the stage) so it could be up towards 50 mins

The time limit will not be a problem. Sagan is only four minutes away from the pelleton.

I think they will do anything possible to avoid ejecting him after what happened last year

The rules are now very clear that anyone finishing outside the limit loses all their points:

In case riders actually out of the time limit are given a second chance by the president of the Commissaires Panel, all points awarded in the general classifications of the various secondary classifications shall be withdrawn.

Though who knows if they will actually enforce this...
