I think we can see the giro affecting contador

Possibly, but I think it's too early to tell. Today's stage is not the high mountains. I mean, Thor was even there at the end and hung on to the yellow jersey. We'll really see if the Giro has messed with Conti when we hit the real mountains.

as usual, gesink is a top ten rider and nothing more. whenever he gets near podium he crashes, look at vuelta 2 years ago and last years tour when he broke his wirst(?)

you an idiot.
you have no valid reasoning.

Braj crashing in front of gesink is why he will never podium. great reasoning pal.

Alberto "Rope-a-Dope" Contador. I thought he looked fine. He never gunned it, just wanted to see what everyone else was capable of. I won't be surprised if he wins this by 2 or more minutes.

great ride for rui. lol thehog saying TJVG was stronger lololol
What do you mean, unfortunately? If Contador is beatable, we'll have a pretty awesome race. Hell, so far the Tour has been about twice as good as the Giro.

Beautiful win for Costa and Movistar. He crushed Vino in the last 2 k.

Gilbert back on the top of his of game. The team should've put VDB on the front and he would've won. :p And another monster effort by Hushovd, Evans should be happy.

A real shame about Gesink.

Vaughters is probably angry again, his team have to work for another week. As you know, resting is more important than riding in yellow for two weeks.

Still Gesink

He had a lead of more than 1'40 on the second rider so..

Oh, well, Thank you!

Hopefully Gesink can still carry that to Paris!

The Giro is definitely affecting Contador. No question. He doesn't have the punch.

Yup. Andy has a bit of a glide path to the top step if he can put time into Cuddles

Getting a top ten seems to mean a lot for Vaughters, I don't know why. They're so 2008.

Come on guys. It was not a mountain stage. Don't over analyze this stage...

Agree. Not sure what everyone is so excited about. If Thor is there it is NOT a mountain stage.

This stage was one of the best stages in a while. You have the breakaway lasting all day making it to the finish, with the winner winning for a fallen teammate.

You have an aging superstar attack early out for a stage win and for a yellow jersey.

You have a group of favorites and the Top uphill classic rider catching up to him on the line and

You have a Yellow jersey pulling himself inside and out to hold on to the jersey.
What more could you ask out of a stage, especially one that is not a Mtn top finish or a massive mtn. day.

That headwind on that climb ended up costing Vino on the uphill, eventhough without it, he wouldn't have gotten yellow anyways, probably been about 5-10 seconds short. Maybe he could have made to Rui, but not quite sure of that.
