I do.

Do you?

Some riders become great professionals and some don't. We just don't know until they are thrown out there to compete with the big boys. In his case the injury kind of delay his development a little bit.

Langkawi is a good start.

chave sis not in good form yet at all. he hasn't trained for nealry a year or raced. he hopes to be good around pais vasco, but he will focus all on vuelta. that says enough

1) his injury was considered career threating, not sure if he is fully recovered
2) he was one of the first guys to leave Team Colombia, so he can be seen as a litmus test, along with Atapuma, on the continuation for that program
3) His biggest win, at Burgos, was impressive, but it was a gift from Henao, Uran & Sky. He worked hard for Henao at the end, Henao aiming for GC (eventually won by Daniel Moreno).
4) Orica-GreenEdge wants to see his progression.

I'm not expecting GC podium...I'm hoping for at least fireworks on Stage 4 from him.

it wasn't so much a gift as chaves rode a tmepo henao couldn't follow and asked him to slow down to help him win gc and he would win the stage. chaves was the best climber that day

Stage 2 in progress.

after 40km or so, break with 5-ish minutes:

Ho Junrong (Ocbc), Khalikhosroshahi (Tabriz), Asadov and Isgandarov (Baku), Jiang Zhi Hui (Giant) and Rashid Ibrahim (Malaysia)

Rashid seems to be struggling a bit.

I guess Brown still has his use. Not in the least for his ability to take out the competition with his bare hands, the moron.

A stage 2 pic from steephill. It would appear one crash was right at the front:

The big one was 700m from the finish. Yellow Fluo guy crashed and took van Hummel and Guardini down. And some others.

Quintero is a great descender, so he shouldn't have any issues on Stage 3 or Stage 5. The race will be decided on Stage 4, IMO.

stage 3 is like 100m over 6km (last hill) on a road going into KL. Bunch sprint if the sprinters are not too scarred. But the Colombians will sit on the front for a least 100km.

The Genting climb will do the job, but don't underestimate the peloton drive, day in and day out.
