John Gadret will ride the tour and will support Peraud and Roche. Doubt he will have anywhere near his Giro form and won't be much of a help for Peraud or Roche.

Guess the team will be

Roche
Peraud
Gadret
Kadri (if he recovers)
Riblon
Bouet
Perget
Dessel (hope not, but likely)
Elmiger

Edit: So CN reports that Elmiger isn't in the contention for a spot. I reckon Hinault gets the nod then.

The Daupine really screwed with Ag2r's Tour, with Roche's crash and Kadri's injury. Combine that with Gadret, Dupont and Nocentini riding the Giro and you have a situation where five of their six most talented riders either won't be at the Tour or will be in suspect form. That can't be a happy situation for a French team.

Full team support, by mediocre riders. Or 4 or 5 strong leaders. What team would you rate higher?

4-5 everyday but who riding for who

If shack had 1 leader with plan B 1-2 best team, but we get a leader after 13 or stages . 3 of those will be tired from getting results or riding sh!t so be mediocre anyway.

Just saying

Dessel will win a stage I think - his form in the TdSuisse was the most promising it's been in a long time

No Igor Anton? I know he rode the Giro but surely he'd be of use riding in support for Sanchez. Unless EE's resting him for the Vuelta?

Wow... They're gonna get slaughtered in the TTT
eh, TTT's only 23 kms long, don't think it's going to have too much of an impact on the final outcome.

Why would he need one? OPL will never have to control the race in the mountains. I just don't understand a team's mentality when they're putting their whole team in support of someone who'll at best be 4th or 5th with not much chance of stage wins of said person. Leech from other teams is much better.

And to answer your question. Don't know, perhaps Vanendert and Gilbert will be able to do some domestique work on the mountains. But why bother.

Bakelants and De Greef can also help VDB

In answer to the thread that was closed: Yes, is the answer. BMC has nobody on the team. Has to be the worst support for Evans ever. Even Morabito is doubtful to perform at the level that is required.

Well I guess I understand that from EE's perspective but kind of disappointing, as I'd like to see what Anton and Sanchez could do together on the Tour climbs. Can't think of too many other teams that would have that sort of 1-2 punch in the big hills.

Indeed, but there's 3 GTs and they have pretty thin resources.

Anton/Nieve hunting stages in the Giro, Sanchez for GC in the Tour and Anton for GC, with Nieve support, in La Vuelta, is about the best use of those resources, especially considering Anton at La Vuelta (and missing Le Tour) represents their best chance of GC success and the fact that they're a 'Spanish' team.

Pretty strange how Pablo Urtasun made the cut. Koldo Ferandez looked back in okay form in the TDS so if they wanted a sprinter on the team he would be a far more obvious choise and I really dont see what Urtasun can bring in neither helping or breakaways.

Lol. You are saying bakelandts and De Greef will be strong help to VDB in the mountains yet you don't think Morabito or anyone else can do the job at BMC.

Morabito
9th Tour of California + 5th on stage to Mt Baldy.
13th in Romandie (would of been in top 10 without wind disadvantage)
5th Giro del Trentino

4th Tour de Suisse
12th Tour of California
7th Circuit de la Sarthe

De Greef
24th Giro dItailia
15th Tour de Suisse

21st Giro Ditalia
26th Volta a Catalunya
24th Paris Nice

Bakelandts
13th Tour de Suisse
23rd Giro DItalia

18th vuelta a espana
36th Giro dItalia
15th Tirreno Adriatico

I might give you Bakelandts but not De Greef.
