To be fair he does know what he is talking about, and is merely frustrated with certain people on here. The reality is that these people that he, and I, are frustrated with, rarely find things out for themselves, and rely on twitter updates, press releases and the odd cycling website for their information. For someone who has huge background in the sport, as this person does, then it is very frustrating dealing with such ignorance. Harsh maybe, but not a patch on the people who label Greg Lemond as 'jealous, a loser, bitter, irrational and a stalker'.
What's been said about Lemond has been deserved based on his behaviour. He's got issues all over the place. If he kept his personal problems to himself he wouldn't get labeled. He makes LA look like an angel.

I think when a poster takes on the authoritative, holier than thou approach, it's a tell that they're not feeling confident or persuasive. What kind of respect can be had when you call someone confused or foolish because they take the opposite side of a very polarized cut and dried issue?

What is wrong with his behaviour?
Secondly, what are his issues as you call them? What has he done to make Lance, a known bully, look like an angel?

Well at the very very least, you are poorly informed on the issues at hand. And that's being kind.

They would be the ones that Flandis tried to use to shut Greg up.

The fanboys see his misfortune as more of a character flaw, that has somehow manifested itself in the form of an axe, badly in need of a grind, with Armstrong as the tool.

At least they got the last part right.

Nice of Mr A to pay and employ his lawyer for his ex.

When you continue to make claims that are not supported by anything more then your own hatred of LeMond you should not be surprised if people question you.

Greg is bitter. He had 3 tour wins stolen from him, one from Hinault two from being shot by his brother in law and maybe more from dopers.
I don't know why he is jealous of Lance but he is.
I guess he has unresolved issues from being molested.
Poor guy my heart goes out to him.
I wish that he could be happy with his fine achievements and his family instead of smacking down cycling, Trek,Lance and Kristian.
Going after someones ex-wife; sorry Greg that is wrong. No matter what kind of vendetta LeMond has he needn't attack the Mother of Lances' kids.
Totally without class LeMond.

I partly guessed this is what he was alluding to, but like you say, it's as if the Lance fans think he should lock himself away, because of what has happened to him.

People here have cited many things to you that show these alegations are not true, but are in fact products of Armstrongs PR crew.
Sorry I don't know any other way to put this but:
You are a moron.
With all due respect.

Come on man. Bow out on this topic. There is much to be discussed. Don't soil it with this nonsense.

You might want to actually read the complaint as it answers some of the questions you pretend do not have an answer.

A good example is the Lemond Distributor question that you have babbled about. If you read the complaint you will see that Greg gave Trek information on distributors in numerous European companies that were interested in carrying his brand. The compliant cites specifically the French Trek distributor who approached Lemond personally because he wanted to carry LeMond bikes in France as Greg is very popular in France. This distributor was told by Trek that they were not interested as they were "Winding down the Lemond Brand". This was almost 4 years before Greg's contract was up with Trek and already dealers were being told that they were no longer going to support band.

So long as trek met the minimum standards of the contract, I don't see a reason as to why Trek should be obligated to push a brand they don't feel is lucrative. That's business.

flicker are you ok ?

if you care so much about 'the mother of armstrong's children' you should examine the fact armstrong abandoned her (with the children) after she faithfully stayed by his side through the worst periods of his cancer.

get real dude.

I guess there is much to be discussed. Why be hurtful though? Would you say negative things like that to a family member or in Church? Be happy.

All big manufacturers want to have a "boutique brand". Specialized has done that to a large extent with S-Works. Trek didn't know how to position LeMond and seemed to think pushing it somehow detracted from the Trek brand. They never seemed willing to regard it as any more that "another bike" that they were selling.
LeMond bikes would more than likely have been quite lucrative if Trek would ever have been willing to promote them as the boutique Trek.
I don't think they ever had a clear marketing plan for the line.

Yes. I think that is all bad business. They offered GL an 'out' and he refused, so he is no exception to this fault. Funny how stubborn asses on both sides aren't willing to follow the clear path to success.

Sorry don't go to church. If a family member was making a fool of himself I would certainly not stand idly by.

Not sure I would consider "shut up and go away, here's bus fare" to be a very compelling offer myself. Actually I have never read Treks original offer so maybe I shouldn't say that. I have however read Treks explanation of their actions on the dealer site and I thought it reeked of PR spin and out and out lies.

I ain't got a dog in this fight. But Lance didn't meet Kristin until after he was in chemotherapy and was recovering. Just to keep the facts straight.

In January 1997, Kristin Richard met Lance Armstrong, the Texas cyclist who at the time was battling testicular cancer. Kristin was working for an advertising and public relations firm in Austin, Texas, when she first met him at a press conference. She recalls he had just finished his chemotherapy.

how does it contradict the fact that she stayed by his side through the worst period of his life? and then he dumps her like a rock.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, I don't want to wade through all the pages.

I remember reading a copy of LA's email where he said he was going like Schumi/Ferrari (Ferrari & Schumacher dominated F1 that time), anyone else remember this?

In addition, none of us knows the real story behind why they split. As mind boggling as it is to some it is possible it was mutual, or even instigated by Kristin.

you do seem to have a dog here if you insist on pedantically referring to the irrelevant issues that are totally out of context - flicker's jab at lemond for depositing his ex. I repeat - she showed loyalty and dedication to a man who was half dead only to be dumped like a useless trash when time came for armstrong to pay some dues.
