Surprised to see Simoni forgot to add his Trentino Bike shop to the myriad of ads on that shirt !
Must have forgotten he was retiring !

When on tours i prefer the "Monaco" or " Vivo" uniform when not wearing the suit with "Unicef " bibshorts that is the uniform of Vignatti (Italian Para Cyclist) that i am honoured to wear .

Don't have to look at myself so really doesn't matter though .

The Diquigiovanni bike is really nice though. However the saddle looks abnormally high compared to the rest of the bike, no?

There was this funny moment at the finish where Cancellara wanted to point at the sponsor name, and then thought: wait, there isn't one. So he just straightened his jersey a little.

Shame that riders can't display happiness for/pride in their team, rather than the sponsors of it. Footballers are often seen kissing the badge, but never the sponsors' logo.

It pays there bills.

Cycling allways has been commercial.

I presume you own a bike. it's branded, count the adverts on it. Include saddle, tires, runners or shoes, even your helmet. I would also presume you do go out in public with it. You dont even get a penny to advertise.

If you want a sport to be commercial free good luck finding it

You take his point too far...there's a difference between understanding sponsorship is necessary, and actually complaining when it isn't plastered all over a jersey.

Jerseys

You would think with all that money wrapped up in advertising and the many outstanding artists out there that a better jersey is certainately possible.

There does seem to be a trend in the pro cycling where there is a wave of the same color jerseys. It is like they all go to the same jersey shop and are offered the style of the year.

I don't know if it will change anytime soon. The team is just as good if not better than Saxo Bank last year and Bjarne Riis had huge trouble finding a sponsor, despite Cancellara's victories and the fact that he was actively (desperately) searching for one all season.

It couldn't have helped that the Luxembourg project and the obvious links to the Schleck brothers was rumoured about for much of the 2010 season. Marc Bivier (sp) is quoted in either the latest Peloton or Pro Cycling magazines that the Schleck brothers were involved from the beginning, contrary to their denials and public statements to the contrary. I would think this would have left quite the unstable atmosphere at Saxo and I wouldn't doubt that behind the scenes recruiting was going on, or, at the least, general discussions about the new team amongst the current Saxo riders. With the team sponsorship threatened it's only natural that riders would be looking out for their own interests.

Agree with Angliru, the way the whole thing went down was bogus.

Riis took too long to find a sponsor and his riders prefered to sign somewhere else or retire ... nothing bogus about that. If LEOPARD TREK hadn't been created, they would have signed somewhere else.

wow, i guess you just can't handle it when someone or something is different??

i have no problem with the jersey, it has a kind of old school elegance to it, plus the fact they're not shouting some sponsors name all over the place is nice for a change.

I agree... I can't believe people complain about the LACK of logos.... logos make our sport look like Nascar... There is a reason that the nicest looking jerseys that non-pros wear are more plain (think Rapha, Capoforma, etc)

I think the Trek-Leopard Jersey is classy... and the contrasting Black and Aqua-Blue shows the contrast in cycling.... Strength and beauty

I agree with ..... ME. The jerseys blow.

75% see-through white sucks.

You would get an F in high school freshman art with L-T jersey design.

BTW: what about Fränk's national jersey. Didn't the Lux federation ask them (about 1,5 months ago) to redesign his jersey?

Any news on that topic?

No news on that ... I was already expecting a new jersey for Paris-Nice, maybe he'll have it for Pais Vasco now but nothing has been said recently on that matter.

I'm sure the federation will be impatient, now that he actually won something and that his big goals are coming up

Ye its a bit "empty" but overall its not ugly. The main problem is, however, that Sky, Garmin and Leopard are all so very similar. And its particular annoying at the moment because they are all strong in the cobble races and often all 3 teams are in the front of the peleton so it looks like one giant team with 20+ riders.

Another hint that LEOPARD TREK might be hoping for a sponsor is the fact that it has been four months since the jersey has been unveiled, and they are still not available for the public.

Not to blow your theory, but actually they are.

Wow thanks, has this been available for a while? Kind of embarrassing that I didn't know that, I just thought their official website would be the first one to have them

Time to whip out the visa

I was gonna ask you if you were interested for yourself but I got beat to it. :D

Actually I'm not sure yet. I've never bought team jerseys because I found the whole idea a bit silly, but since this one is quite different (in the sense that it's so empty) maybe I will. In any case they're always so expensive

I was hoping they'd bring out a regular T-shirt, I would have bought that for sure. But I'm sure there is more merchandise to come, so far it only seems to be jersey, shorts, helmet and the cape

I just saw that today. Always thought they would ask for more à la cervelo/castelli, who has prohibitive prices on their products. Not that I'm thinking about buying either of those.

The jersey design torns me apart. Sometimes I liken it, sometimes I don't. Granted it look much better on the bike, than standing still.

Yes on the mannequin it looks terrible but in action it looks good
