True so all this Leopard-Trek plan must go back much longer than anyone ever imagined ... I think it might have been already born at the end of the Tour de France 2009, when we repeatedly saw Andy and Lance talking in hushed voices.
Back then we all thought he was trying to recruit Andy for RadioShack, but in reality their plans went much further. Think about it: Pat is on Lance's salary list and Prudhomme loves the Schlecks. Together Lance and Andy united the ASO and UCI. Andy got the ASO to taylor-suit him a route and Lance got the UCI to accept a dodgy team with no sponsor, and bring down Contador and Landis along the way.
I just wonder what Trek's role is in all this. Does Armstrong own a considerable amount of shares? Do they blackmail him with proof from the USPS years? The latter seems more likely to me. That was the whole reason Armstrong came out of retirement - Trek blackmailed him, and if he didn't win the TdF then they'd release the evidence. Once Lance realized he couldn't do it anymore (end of 2009 TdF), he needed to find someone who was desperate enough to win the TdF that he would even ride on Trek .... Andy.
This also makes Lance a prime suspect for the Chaingate incident. No one would believe that Andy would deliberately ride Trek, so something really bad had to happen with his Specialized to make it seem more plausible. I doubt Andy knew about this. No one thought he had a real shot of winning, but then when it actually looked like he could pull it off, he was foolish enough to believe that Lance and Trek would let him do so on a Specialized.
I have also seen "Team Def Leppard" as a suggestion on a different site. Maybe we could collect around 5 to 10 suggestions and then have an official poll on it, so there will be no confusion?
To be honest, your entire post basically says this:
"Look everyone, I've linked this to Armstrong, without no actual facts or sense. But it makes Armstrong evil and manipulative, so please love me. The UCI, and better still, the ASO are involved. Please accept me. I'm not a fanboy. Please, view me as someone in the know."
Look. Most people think Armstrong doped. If there is any UCI conspiracy (which I doubt), then it will be low level and not very sophisticated.
Basically, your post is trying to get in with the 'in-crowd' by way of your hatred of LA and the UCI. You can hate as much as anyone else, can't you - so you should be seen as a good poster.
Really, it's better to not care about being popular and view all evidence on it's own merits.
(PS My position: Armstrong doped. But I don't see how he's any worse than many of his contempories).
